I adopted a kitten that someone had found on the street and cared for the past few days. It is estimated that she is about 4 weeks old. Looking up cats online, I think she is a blue point siamese kitten. I have never had any cats, and grew up in a "dog household" so I'm not sure what to look for. She is eating babycat food, she didnt want any kitten formula, and is using the litterbox regularly, her stool is soft and a dark greenish color and she is peeing fine. So I'm assuming she is healthy. I know to take her to the Vet at six weeks, is there anything else I should look for in the meantime? Thanks in advance!

I named her Sophie. The people who found her asked around and put up signs. nobody contacted them at all for her. I double checked the litter tray.. it is more brown than green I guess... So I'll keep an eye on her, I have an appointment scheduled at the vet in two weeks, and if nothing seems to change I will just keep that appointment! Thanks for all your help!

If she's eating and using the litter box, she is fine. Common health problems in kittens include upper respiratory infections, and parasites/worms. When you take her to the vet, you should bring a fresh stool sample. As far as upper respiratory infections go, look for sneezing and a runny nose. A URI can be serious but usually isn't, just check for signs and mention them to the vet if you see them.
I used to work for a cat shelter, and I have seen a lot of sick kittens. Trust me, if you needed to take her to the vet right away it would be obvious. As long as the cat has clear eyes, eats and poops regularly, and doesn't have diarrhea (you'd be able to tell), then everything should be fine until the 6-week visit. Just don't forget that stool sample!

The dark green stool sounds unusual, but other than that she sounds fine. She probably has worms (any cat or kitten spending time outdoors will get them), but the vet will prescribe a proper medication (probably StrongID) to deal with that. At four weeks she can eat solid food and doesn't need kitten formula. Also, she may have fleas (look for small black specks in her fur; that's the "dirt" fleas leave behind).

The stool sounds a bit suspicious, otherwise things sound good. Most kittens need to be wormed, they pick those up from the mothers almost universally. I wouldn't wait another two weeks to do the worming as it can be debilitating even in a short time.
Please have the vet prescribe the pill. Over-the-counter products are those that veterinarians don't use anymore because they have probed ineffective or harmful to animals.

If she is 4 weeks, she should see the vet NOW!! She can be wormed, because I can guarantee you she has them, and he can better estimate the age if the kitten. She is probably a siamese marked domestic shorthair. There can be siamese marked kittens in TONS of litters. She can start to get vaccines when she is 6 weeks, so take her now because she may be six weeks. The vet will know is she is ready for vaccines and when to test for FeLV/FIV.

definately get it to the vet before introducing to any other pets as i dont think it should be green at all
they will give her vitamins and worm injections and all the advise you need
They will also probably know if any one in the area has lost this little kitten so be prepared to give it back to its rightful owner or at least contact them to let them know it is ok
If it is healthy and using a litter box it looks as if it belonged to somone and just strayed off
Bluepoint Siamese pedigree cats are not cheap someone may be looking for her

Congrats on your new kitten, how sweet of you to adopt her. Sounds to me like she is doing fine, she may not want the kitten formula because the soft food suits her fine. The stool color is normal and you might want to find a kitten food that is also crunchy for her developing teeth, you can mix it with her soft food. What's her name?

sounds like your new kitten is totally healthful. do no longer concern if the vet tells you that little rascal isn't, because of the fact the vet can be able to help your newfound kitten get lots fit. good success with your kitten!

If she is truly 4 weeks old -- less than two pounds - then she needs to be on kitten formula. You should take her to a vet TODAY to verify that! Inappropriate feeding can cause malnutrition, illness, and developmental problems.

At this young age you may want to take her to vets now and get her a check up.
Enjoy her and be prepared for her to be talkative. Siamese are very vocal.
