and suddenly look around you, and start asking yourself... "Why am I here? Where is this place? What am I doing here?"

Sometimes when it happens to me, it makes me feel that what's around me, is not real. It take about a minute for me to get back. Does anyone knows what's this phenomenem called? Have you had that experience?

hello pencil. Boy, do I know this one! It's as if my mind is erased for a moment and it's just a blank slate. All the ideas about who I am are gone and it feels like I just arrived here with no idea of who I am or where I'm at.

I used to have this as a kid sometimes. One time I woke up and had no clue where I was. I didn't even know my name. I was wondering the house ready to ask the first person I saw what my name was!

This happened to me a few months ago when i was driving! lol.

I don't know what this phenomenon is called but my feeling is we have everything held together by our thoughts: who we are, our name, our job, etc. every detail of our life and our whole identity is held together by a string of thoughts. Sometimes the mind stops and this is when this confusion happens to me. Suddenly the thoughts aren't there and I'm left looking at my surroundings and feeling totally confused.

I've read that this is called no mind. It's just from being in the moment and having the mind totally stop. The mental noise is gone but so is all the reference points of what and who we are. In some circles this is called a breakthrough. A mini satori.

Personally, I think this is good. Any break in thoughts is good. We see the same things everyday and we have ideas and knowledge about everything but there are times when it's as if we are seeing things for the first time and I think this is what causes the mind to kind of panic a bit.

I've learned that when this happens and I totally forget everything, just relax and don't listen to the mind by trying to figure out what is going on, just relax into it and enjoy it. We're not losing our minds, it's just the mind is losing it's hold over us. Sooner or later the mind will come back with it's labels and knowledge so no biggie.

There is a wonderful freshness that comes from seeing things anew without any reference points.

I have seizures and the Petite Mal is like having a dazing spell, where you lose touch with all your surroundings for a few. When I have them I have no clue what I might have last said or what was even said to me while in that daze. When I come out I have no clue of what was said even before I went in. Its like it erased my memory. I have been told those have lasted up to 10 minutes, and some 1 minute, and some for only seconds. You might wanna talk to your doctor about those. Before I was dignosed with Seizures I would leave work after working graveyards and many times I could not tell you how I even got home.

It sounds like a generalized anxiety to me. It comes out that way. I used to experience that myself when I went to school a long time ago .. it can be a scary feeling .. but just close your eyes for a minute and concentrate on your breathing .. forget about everyone else .. and stop thinking. Just breath , slow, deep breaths .. that will help. If the problem continues or you feel it is getting worse. Then I would talk with a good friend about it .. if you feel comfortable with your parents .. talk with them about it .. if not .. and it is REALLY causing you problems more and more . then call a Crisis Intervention center when you get home from school and talk with someone on the phone .. they won't know who you are .. so it is safe to talk with them .. from there, they can give you information on who to contact in your area for more help with this. To find a phone number . . just put in either yahoo or google.com the words phone crisis intervention. Or, National Mental Health phone numbers. Just know that you are NOT alone .. I know exactly what you are talking about. Just do the best you can to relax in that moment . clear your head , close your eyes .. and concentrate on your breathing . try to breathe slowly .. calmly .. that will help almost all the time. Good luck ! :)

the reality is that Sarah Palin could make rather some money as a speaker. and he or she would be in call for for a minimum of a pair of years on a similar time as human beings think of she might run. some human beings will pay a 2d time to hearken to her communicate through fact they did not understand the 1st time.

are you meditating and then at the end coming back from the place where you were ? this is what one does when one deliberately thinks of another place where they can find peace and relaxation for a little while in order to revive their perspective before going back to the " real world " which is loaded with the stress and strain of everyday living.

I've never gotten that dazed. I have wandered off and lost time (like 20 minutes) and totally forgot what I had been doing....but never wondered where I was or if it was real.

I have. but now I try not to loose track of reality anymnore. If you can control it you will have more energy on the end of the day, then you can use that energy to wake up in your dreams and experience another plane with much more detail.
