No. I don't think religion is good for eveyone. some people need a security blanket they can cling to for life. I am not one of these.
If the christian religion (same with the islim) came clean about the bible the christian religion would die out.

What is there to come clean about. The bible is supposed to be a guide as to how people lead their lives and to provide assistance to those who are having a hard time.
I dont believe that it is a historical account of actually what happenned in every instance, although i would say that many of the stories are based on true events. I would be interested to hear what religious people think of this.

Personally, I am not a christian and really don't plan on being one. I don't believe the stories/truths in there, I think they are too far-fetched. I believe they are more tall-tales than anything. Interesting though, but definitely not for me.
So no, I wouldn't "join".

You mean if they came out and confirmed that it was all made up and there is very little truth behind the whole thing? That maybe they don't have any kind of special knowledge that people tend to think they do? That science is the best answer to learning the truth about our universe?
There wouldn't be much incentive to join then now would there?

Anyway, I don´t think it´s a good idea they "came clean" about the bible at this point in our history... most people still need to believe that what they read is true, word for word... It gives them comfort.

I also do not understand what you mean by "coming clean?" Are you suggesting the stories are made-up or altered?
The Bible is what it is....and is ultimately left to your interpretation.
