I have never had anything like this before. These lumps are about 2cm width and dome shaped, they do not itch and are not weepy, at least not at the moment. I am a fit person, who does not fall ill easily so this is quite disturbing for me. I'm hoping someone knows of this and can tell me what this could be and hopefully what i can do about it. Thanx all.

Lumps in the locations you describe would most likely be sebaceous cysts, which are plugged oil glands. They are harmless other than some chance of getting infected. If they get red or more painful, they'd need more immediate attention. Otherwise, it ought to be ok to wait (realizing there's no way to make an accurate diagnosis of a lump without seeing it.)

I think you should go and see your doctor!

I was going to be really facetious, by saying that I have the same problem, as a teacher! We returned to school on the 14th August, and it's as though we'd never had a holiday!!!!

Seriously though, do go and get some medical advice! Good Luck!!

You didn't say where on your head they were. I've had lumps at the back of my head just before my neck. Very painful, at first I thought was bit by a spider or something. Turns it, it was "knots" from stress.....

Could be ingrown hairs or small cysts. I get them all the time. I bust them and keep moving. Put alcohol on them or try warm compresses to see if they go down. Might want to talk to dermatologist.

These could be clogged hair follicles, which are similar to an ingrown hair or a pimple. You can try washing your hair more frequently and spending more time massaging your scalp when you do, this may help to alleviate the discomfort and possibly to prevent them in the future. If you've changed hair-care products recently, it could also be an allergy.

Could be cysts. A doctor needs to take a look at that.

These are benign fatty tumours. Don't worry. There is nothing serious. You should visit your GP or some surgeon to examine you and together to decide whether they're have to be removed.
