It sounds like an absess, or a nasty infection brewing..go to your doctor hon, and get some antibiotics, before you need a root canal..and you might already need one...better to go and be safe and not sorry good luck! YOu might try to rinse with some diluted hydrogen peroxide, and of course, don't swallow it...just about 1/4 to 3/4 water...and salt water is good too...

Like the others suggested before it is likely to be a root canal infection which will require treatment. Root canal treatment (also called endodontics) is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected. If the pulp becomes infected, the infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth. This may eventually lead to an abscess. If root canal treatment is not carried out, the infection will spread and the tooth may need to be taken out. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from the root canal. The root is then cleaned and filled to prevent any further infection. Root canal treatment time-consuming and most courses of treatment will involve two or more visits to your dentist. You may also be prescribed a course of antibiotics. At the first appointment, the infected pulp is removed. Any abscesses, which may be present, can also be drained at this time. The root canal is then cleaned and shaped ready for the filling. A temporary filling is put in and the tooth is left to settle. The tooth is checked at a later visit and when all the infection has cleared, the tooth is permanently filled. The alternative is to have the tooth out. Once the pulp is destroyed, it can’t heal and it is not recommended to leave an infected tooth in the mouth. Although some people would prefer an extraction, it is usually best to keep as many natural teeth as possible. Hope this helps.

This means the tooth is infected at the roots. You will need to have it pulled or get a root canal. An atibiotic will remove the lump which is just pus like in a pimple.

I just answered a similar question a minute ago.
It's most likely a abscess and should be taken care of right way. See a dentist don't put it off hoping it will go away, because it won't!
