To be quite honest with you, I have tried all expensive detanglers that you could possibly name. The very best one is Johnson's Buddies for children. My hair is colored and long. This makes my hair silky and tangle free. It is amazing that a product so inexpensive can do such a great job. I understand that this product is for children, but it does wonders for adults.

You need to brush it before it gets cut, but yes, the longer your hair is, the harder it is to brush and the easier it gets tangled. You could also ask to get it thinned. That might make it a little more managable. To make hair easier to brush, use a conditioner. It should detangle it a little bit and make it easier to get through. I recommend doing that the day you get it cut, because otherwise your hairdresser will have a hell of a time getting the knots out.

Hi
Try seperating your hair and comb out the tangles (i know this can be painfull, but if you put it into segments then hols the hair at the root you can detangle it and it doesnt hurt, also leave extra conditoner on your hair when your washing it for a good 10 mins, that helps eventually soften and detangle.. Id recommend a good hair serum to apply to your hair as in John Freda's erum, which detangles and leaves your hair beautiful ans soft and smooth. Hope this helps xxxxx

Try out 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda mixed with your shampoo once in a week....makes your hair softer.

my hair used to be past my butt, so i had the same prob. what worked for me was to change shampoo. a lot of stuff builds up in your hair, try to use a clarifying shampoo every 3 times you wash your hair. also leave in conditioner is good stuff, but it builds up so don't use it unless you use your clarifier.
