It's not possible in a conventional oven. You need a outdoor smoker.

I don't think so. My fatther smokes alot of salmon but he usally uses a charcol grill without the charcol, instead he uses different flavored wood chips that he soaks in water for at least 6 hours. I would think that the oven has to much dry heat that would eventually dry out the wood chips prematurely or even burn the salmon. The key is the slow cooking to get the the smoke taste into the salmon. Also I did watch the food network channel about a year ago where Elton Brown made a smoke box out of cardboard. Hoped this helped you

An oven is not sealed and you would have smoke all over the house. On some of the foodnetwork shows I have seen a pan that goes on the top of the store. First use put in wood chips, then there is a tray for the food, and then a cover. The heat from the range burns the wood and causes smoke.

Sure--You can buy a bottle of (liquid smoke) to add the right flavor for a conventional oven.

I think you should EAT the Salmon and if you smoke outside, you'll probably be more comfortable. (BTW, I can't believe you fit in your oven.)

To smoke meat you burn wood. If it's in your oven, where will the smoke go?
