Is there any way or place I can get the blades of a paper shredder sharpened. They just aren't cutting right through any more. Useless!

Hope someone can help.
Thanks.

Throw the old one away and then get a shredding service. For less than the price of a disposable shredder you can have someone do the work for you.

Great isn't it really, throw your shredder into a big pile with all the other blunt ones (probably in land-fill) somewhere just for the want of a method of sharpening!

Why stop at shredders, why don't we just chuck everything away when it gets blunt! Knives, lawn mowers, wits and humour!

There is a market for someone who can invent a cheap sharpener surely, or do we continue to bury these things when they get blunt?

Buy a new one.
Dont waste money on oiled paper. Spray paper with WD40 and feed it through.
I repair Shredders and thats the manufacurers suggestion

probably have to buy a new one at this point, but when you do buy the blade oil or the oiled paper that they sell, it does not sharpen the blades but helps the longevity of your shredder.

Earlier answer was probably the best, do as I do, spray now and then with the old WD40, if that don't help, the price they are at, just buy a new one. shame to throw stuff away, but thats the way they are designed these days...............

It is likely to be so expensive to replace parts that the best thing to do is buy a new one. If youre in the UK, Homebase and B&Q have some great deals.

Seems to me these things cost buttons these days.
