There's nothing wrong with it at all. You will, however, get a lot of pressure from Christians who will "pray for you" (ie: try to guilt trip you back into the fold) and others who will outright cause a lot of trouble for you. I even had one guy try to get me fired for being an atheist. Believe what feels right to you: To try to believe in something that doesn't only leads to discontent and misery. Or hypocrisy.

I am glad you mentioned brainwashing. That is what religion is all about. Brainwashing you from the cradle, not allowing you to think and act for yourself. Religion is no more than a CULT activity. Only the strong survive and come out the other end able to think and act for themselves. So to answer your question no it isn't wrong to feel so right about being an athiest.

I am a Christian. I do not feel it is wrong for you to feel so right about your decision. I think that is a good sign. If you did not feel so right about it, then it probably would not be the choice for you. I feel right about my choice.
As far as brainwashing parents. I was in another religion from childhood and could not accept it when I became an older teen. I avoided religion as a young adult I now am in a different type of church and feel very right about my decision too.

Not at all. A lot of Christians choose to be Christian mostly because they get a special book that they can say holds all the answers, and that if they only study it enough, they will know all the answers.
Both are on a quest to feel right.

Well, religion is something I think about a lot, and I am more comfortable being a pantheist then I ever was as a christian. Go with whatever feels right.

No, it isn't wrong to feel so right about being an atheist .. nor is it wrong to feel so right about anything in your life, no matter what your religion may be. They are your feelings.. you own them .. if something feels right to you .. then it IS right for you. Don't feel guilty about something like that . You have a right to your feelings .. and since no one truely has the answers on religion .. or if God exists or not .. then your feelings are as true as anyone else out there. Stand your ground and enjoy feeling right about your decisions and your religion. Good luck ! :)

It's not so much what your parents brought you up as...it's the core fundamentals that are important. It doesn't matter if you are Christian, Islamic, Shintoist, Buddist, Zoroastrist, or Mormon. The core essence is basically how do we explain the world, and how do we as human beings exist with one another peacefully. All respectable religions try to teach this. But if you find peace with yourself and with others, then that is a great foundation to start with, and eventually build upon.
Hope this helps,

Yes, because feelings can misguide us. We should base our faith on thoughts.
For abiogenesis to occur, the exact linear sequence of DNA would have to spontaneously appear (without any help from proteins, since there was no DNA to code for proteins yet) that coded for all of the genes/proteins necessary for self-replication. This would be many, many thousands of base pairs long. Also, remember that DNA never spontaneously LENGTHENS; this is an organic chemical reaction that energy input to create a covalent bond.
THEN to keep this chain of DNA that is thousands of base pairs long from spontaneously breaking apart, the complementary DNA strand appeared to stabilize the first strand immediately and spontaneously.
AND the exact amino acid sequence for RNA polymerase spontaneously appeared, which is a completely seperate process. DNA by itself is worthless. Therefore, for abiogenesis to occur, one must not only have a specific DNA or RNA molecule, but also a very specific protein molecule. This molecule is thouands of molecules long and also requires energy. (RNA polymerase is approximately 400kDaltons; an amino acid is approximately 100Daltons; therefore RNA polymerase is a sequence of roughly 4000 amino acids. The odds of randomly and spontaneously forming this molecule -- even if there were a way to spontaneouly form chains of amino acids -- would be roughly 20 (# of amino acids to choose from) to the 4000th power. The odds of this single event happening by chance is 1 in 1 with 5200 zeros behind it. To put that in perspective, if you made 1 TRILLION proteins every second, it would still take you 1 with 5100 zeros behind it YEARS to come up with the right sequence.
AND ribosomes spontaneously appeared, which is even more complex than the above.
AND the tRNA molecules needed for life happened to appear
AND any ATP or other energy molecules necessary appeared
AND all of the above happened to appear within a few microns of each other to be in close enough proximity to interact (almost necessitating a cell membrane)
AND all of the above happened to appear within a very, very short time span, as all of the above molecules are subject to degradation if left exposed to the elements.
AND the DNA just happened to carry a code 1000s of base-pairs long. And this code just so happened to be the EXACT code for all of the proteins that are necessary to replicate the whole process above.
That is just to create life; we won't go into the scientific lack of reason for the "spontaneous" creation of the universe.

in case you realize that your faith somewhat muchs desires to regulate how human beings think of (ATHEISTS ARE undesirable reason they have not got self assurance) and you already understand you will possibly desire to do those issues--your are approximately 0.5 thank you to understanding which you do no longer might desire to do something. you could have self assurance this faith once you have examined it and locate regardless of if there is substance to the thoughts or they're made up. Even you do no longer might desire to have self assurance something--because of the fact of fairly some ideas washing techniques. All human beings might desire to be intellectually basic. Any theory might desire to be examined by ability of the mild of day in an independent style. do no longer enable them to initiate with conclusions and cherry %. bits of evidence to help that place. in basic terms--be intellectually basic--take all the evidence accessible and then come to a end approximately your theory. you're approximately 0.5 thank you to psychological honesty in basic terms from what you have reported.

Atheism is a belief system, just like christianity or buddhism or what-have-you. I think trouble comes when people feel their particular belief system is "right" and all the others are "wrong" -- witness all the atrocities perpetrated throughout history by those who feel their belief system is the one true right system.
So, from that perspective, yes I feel it's wrong to feel so right about being an atheist. If that's your belief system, great, I would never tell you not to believe it. But, please know that none of us really knows the answer to whether there's a god or not, so you don't *really* know that you are "right" .... as such, let others believe what they want to believe, without judgment or any puffed up "righteousness" on your part.
