I am going to buy my very first CrockPot today .... woohoo. I cannot cook (but can bake anything) and it is not something that I dare think about trying. But in homes to show my husband how much I have grown I would like a few simple crockpot recipes including main course and desserts. (i love pot roast, so a unique recipe for that would be appreciated)

If you can provide a link or give precise directions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanx!!

Go to CompanysComing.com and click on slow cooker recipes. There's a whole book of them and it's everything from potpurri to large meals.

I usually do a three lb roast in the crock pot like this.

Cut up onions, carrots, potatoes (1/2 cup -1 cup each) and place them on the bottom of the crock pot. Then I season the roast with salt, pepper, garlic making sure to rub the roast all over and put the fattier side up. Take a tsp or two or gravy browner , mix it with some instant onion soup mix so that with water, gravy browner and soup it makes at least a cup and pour that over the roast. Slow cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2-3.

You're braver than I am to bake in the crock pot , haven't tried that yet , but it can be done I'm told.

Bon Appetite.

I am absolutely in love with my CrockPot. This is one of my favorite recipes:
Barbecued Pork
2 1/2 lb. pork tenderloin, cut into large chunks, if necessary
rub with salt, pepper, chicken grill seasoning
brown outside ( I guess you could skip these steps, but browning the outside does add flavor.)
place in CrockPot with the following ingredients:
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup barbecue sauce ( I strongly recommend Sweet Baby Rays)
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
Cook on high 3 - 4 hours or low 6 - 8 hours, until the meat shreds

My Family's Favorite Pot Roast

3-4 lbs beef roast
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup, any brand
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
Pepsi, I use a 20 ounce bottle
1 large onion (optional)
2-3 potatoes, quartered (optional)

Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray (Pam).
Place roast in the bottom of crock pot.
If you are adding onions and/or potatoes, cut these now and place on top of the roast.
Pour cream of mushroom soup over roast (and onions/potatoes).
Spinkle full pkg of ranch mix on top of the soup.
Pour Pepsi over all. I use enough Pepsi to mostly cover all ingredients, and because it makes the best sauce/gravy I have ever tasted!
Bake in crock pot all day on low.

This is my mom's pot roast recipe. Buy a cut of roat...the type is not particurally important, just whatever is your favorite cut. Add a family sized can of cream of mushroom soup. Cover crockpot and cook until tender (This takes about six hours, but if your where it can cook over night or all day all the better) Serve it over rice or bread.

You can also add fresh vegetables of your choice to make it heartier, but its good just like it is.

But some frozen chicken breasts and fill your crockpot with them. Next, take a can of cream of mushroom soup (condensed) and pour it over the top. Do not add water or any other ingredients, and cook on low for 6-8 hours. You'll have some mouth-watering chicken in a very nice sauce.

Chuck roast, 1 can of cream mushroom soup, 1 pack of Lipton Onion Soup mix.....put roast in pot, pour cream soup over roast, sprinkle with pack of soup mix, pour half can (use cream soup can) of water over top (without disturbing too much of soup mix)....let cook on medium high for about 6 to 8 hours.....will be yummy! serve with pasta, rice or mashed potatoes because you will have lots of gravy!

Whole frying chicken....clean well. sprinkle liberally with garlic salt (or salt and garlic powder) and pepper, inside and out. Put a small onion in the cavity. Place in pot with breast up. Pour half cup of water in bottom to keep from sticking. Cook medium to high for 6 hours. Like baked chicken but without the crunchy skin.

Both of these are good for putting on in morning before you leave for work. Then when you get home, dinner is pratically done!
