I have a pretty powerful computer. So there is no way the computer hardware is to blame. The video card is a pretty good one. The game just doesn't want to install the expansions.

I build computers and also know that people that game companies have a division of hardware techs who troubleshoot game play on loads of machines. Someone always has an interesting case that maybe they haven't run into yet.

The reason for installation problems are very complex and sometimes due to software conflicts if not hardware. The hidden problems surface sometimes when some processing resource intense games.

Your best bet, is to contact EA. Go throught their troubleshooting list for your game and then email at the 'contact us' tab for more help.

try disabling some of your programs (eg anti-virus). also, sometimes the problem is with the registry.
another option is that you can go to the store and have it replaced. you can notice that there is another version of that in some stores, different packaging. maybe one is better than the other.
