The Bible does not mention birth control specifically. I know that abortion as a form of birth control is sinful because it is a type of murder (knowingly ending another persons life).
As for prevention of pregnancy, I would not worry about it.

Not at all sinful. In today's financial world you have to make choices, and one of those has to be how many children you can AFFORD. Even the Catholic church which is dead against birth control approved of the rythm method where women could plan their sex around their most fertile days between periods.

Do what you have to do....and good luck.

absolutely not. And you know somethin? if it is sinful than screw being perfect.. cuz its not always the girls fault for getting pregnant in the first place and it is a safe precaution to avoid getting pregnant before the baby even has a brain. The whole thought of letting a child come into the world miserable and unwanted is reason enough to allow us humans to prevent it.

Why would you think it's sinful? God made humans to enjoy sex. I see no where in the Bible that it's sinful to enjoy sex with your spouse. To be a responsible adult and enjoy Gods gift of sex with your spouse then birth control is sometimes necessary.

No!! I think birth control is necessary! And for those right-wing nutso Christians who claim birth control is sinful, and then say the same thing about abortion, I'd like to know how they think they can have it both ways. With all of the birth control options available now, and the attempt to educate people about them, abortion should eventually become irrelevant.

I'm a baptist. i as an individual think the birth control methods they have out is good. it's better then getting pregnant and then saying gee i can't afford a child. and having an abortion. and then they chop up the child and suck it out. now that is low. any woman that has an abortion is capable of anything. and yes I'm a female and love children there are gift from god.

what is sinful is all of the hundreds of children being born that are not wanted, neglected and abused and killed by their parents.
all of those childrens suffering could have been prevented had the parents used some kind of birth control,,,the people that are against birth control should take in everyone of these children and give them a home, instead of just harping about how others shouldnt use it!

No indeed; if you and your spouse are not in a position to look after and provide for children, it's a responsible reaction not to have them, or indeed not to have more than you can feed/clothe/educate. For many reasons, my husband and I are childless by choice. They're not kittens or puppies; you can't take them to a shelter if it doesn't work out! Children are *people*, human beings, not toys, trophies or proof of my worth as a human being because I can procreate. I take the value of children Very Seriously, and that's why I chose not to have any.

Catholics believe barrier contraception is sinful because it is a sin to waste a man's semen, apparently...Other faiths don't mention it at all, so far as I know...

I used to think not, but I'm not sure anymore. I suppose it would be the reason you practice it, that could be considered sinful. God Bless!!
