Please do not go on a diet. Here are some things you should know:
1. If you eat fewer calories but don't exercise, your metabolism will slow down, because your body will think you are starving. That means that when you start to eat normally again, you will gain back even more weight than you had before. Also, it will be harder to lose that weight.
2. This will lead to cycle of dieting and weight gain. You will wind up fatter than you were before you ever went on a diet.
3. If you enter your twenties overweight, you are far more likely to be fat for the rest of your life. You want to be lean and fit when you enter your 20's.
4. Years and years of scientific research have shown that the only way to lose weight is to exercise regularly. This is because when you eat less calories, your body has to break down muscle tissue for energy. So you lose some fat, but you also lose muscle. But muscle burns more calories than fat! The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be. The less muscle you have, the slower it will be.
So, if you diet but do not exercise, you will make yourself fatter in the long run.
What you need to do is exercise. You can swim, dance, go for walks or jogs, play soccer or volleyball, do a workout video, go the gym, take up karate, take a boxing class, take an aerobics class... anything that gets your heart rate up for about 30 minutes.
You also need to eat healthfully. That means cutting down on sugar, not eating fast food, not drinking soda, taking in lots of fruits and vegetables, and eating lean protein (chicken and fish) regularly.
If you eat right and exercise regularly, I promise you will lose weight and you will feel great about yourself.
There's no other way to do it.

Skip dinners and have good lunchs. It works for me, but after 2 weeks you have to start walking for at least an hour preferably in the evening.I lost more than 30 pounds in 6 weeks like that.

first of all, you didn't gain this weight in a day or so right?, so you can't lose it in a day or so!
1.go to your Doctor and get a check up and ask him/her if you can safely do the lifestyle changing system called DR.ATKINS DIET REVOLUTION , you can find it on :http:www.amazon.com, or most book clubs on-line with many low carb cookbooks. it works but you MUST FOLLOW ALL OF THE DIRECTIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
2.read the book cover to cover
3.follow the directions
4. enjoy the rest of your life
5. one final note, you attitude is always a major decider in any thing you do so love life and live a life of love and be happy just because you can, ask Jesus to help you and believe he will and it will be one sweet victory for you.
