I have also hear people replay in their minds every chance they had on earth to accept Jesus Christ and did not. Every instance.
Now that's torture.

If there is a god who is all love, she, he or it cannot send anyone to a place of eternal torture.
Hell is a reformatory, a place where souls who will learn in no other way learn through suffering not to inflict it.
It is not physical in the sense that this earth is physical, because the material plane is the only place where we have physical bodies.
All that said, can you tell the difference between Hell and Guantanamo Bay?

Hell is separation from God with the full knowledge and understanding of the separation and what it means. I guess this would fall under spiritual or mental agony.

NO. Both Hell and Heaven are here - in this earth only.. there is no separate hell or heaven for our soul. However there exist heaven it is very diffecult for the present generation to reach there..
Those who have gone to Heaven are Lord Sri Krishna, Lord Jesus Christ, Lord Muhammad, Lord Budhha etc ...THIS IS MY CONCLUSION.

Don't tell anyone, but Hell is incentive for people to convert to a religion. It might not be real, but we can't know that or the effect would be ruined.
