Exodus... The 10th Commandment...
Thou shalt not covet another man's wife (singular)....
Matthhew 19:3-6 ... for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh..." (not three or four)
Ephesians 5:22-33. This is a teaching in the bible tha parrallels Christ and the Curch with Huband and Wife. This parallel would not make sense in a polygamous relationship.
1 Timothy 3:2 is often quoted, but it is a mis translation.. "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife" (one wife is also translatable as "his first" wife).
Isaac and Rebekah were monogamous....
as were Joseph and Asenath, Moses and Zipporah...
The only survivors of the flood were four monogamous couples....
Deuteronomy 17:17 forbids Kings to have more than one wife...
There were provisions for more than one wife, but Mosaic law made it provisional. Exodus 21:10... It was never an encouragment.
Other heros had more than one wife, but this was rarely at the spiritual highpoint in their lives.
Monogamy has been the rule among the Jews even after the Babylonian exile and monogomy was the rule even among the Greeks and Romans in New Testament times.
"The New Testament says that marriage to another partner while the first partner is still living is adultery (Romans 7:1-3). No fornicator or adulterer shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9,10). Since a polygamist is an adulterer, he cannot inherit the kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 7:2: "Each man should have his own wife (singular) and each woman her own husband (singular).

Notice that God's definition of marriage involves a man "leaving his father and mother" to be united to his wife. Once a man has left his father and mother's authority and household to marry, he cannot leave that household again! This means that when a man first marries a woman, he does so upon leaving his parent's authority. If he were to subsequently marry another woman, he would not be leaving his parent's authority again, and thus would not fulfill the definition of marriage as outlined in Matthew 19 and Genesis 2:24.
God gives us only two other circumstances where a man can marry another woman:
1) If his wife dies [see Romans 7:2-3]
2) If his wife commits adultery [see Matthew 19:8-9]"

God made Adam, but said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make A helper suitable for him." [Genesis 2:18] "

The Bible does not "forbid" polygamy period and no one can prove that it does. Some of the greats like Abraham, David, etc., had more than 1 wife.
Many will preach long sermons and attempt to twist the Bible to say it does but such is an attempt to impose the laws of man.
The bible does say obey the laws of the land, so if the laws of the land forbids it, then that is another question. It also says do not aspire to be a Bishop or Deacon if you have more than 1 wife. This was instructions from the Apostle Paul, however he did not use the word forbid.

You're right. In fact there are several examples of polygamy in the Bible as well as incest. So, go! Go right ahead and grab yourself just as many husbands or wives as you desire! Do it in the name of God.
