My wife and I have not ruled out the possibility of becoming Mormons. I doubt this will ever happen, but if it is God's will, I would joyfully convert to their faith. They have many beliefs that are contrary to what I have believed since becoming a Christian, but I truly admire their strong devotion to living pure, holy lives. I've found Jesus, but I guess I'm still searching for answers.

They can be. Just so long as they love Jesus and repent of sin. I question some of the doctorine followed by Mormons along with it's founding father as being not Biblical, but that doesn't mean that Mormons cannot be Christian.

What is your definition to "Christian"? To many people, the answer is that they believe in Christ. The word "Mormons" is actually a nickname for that church. The official name is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". The name states it-they worship Jesus Christ. There are more myths about "Mormons" than any other religion. Most of the garbage stuff(devil worshipers, worships joseph smith, have more than one wife) are all false. When Jesus Christ died, the apostles tried to keep the Church running. However, when all of them were killed, it slowly began to fade. Churches broke off into branches, and made their own church. In 1821, a 14 year old boy was so confused at which church to join. They all seemed to be conflicting with one another and none seemed to be true. This boy was Joseph Smith.(Here's where all the garage myths come in.) He simply prayed. He had a vision- and saw Jesus Christ and the Eternal Father, God. They told him that none were true. They didn't say they were wrong and evil, but that they did not have the true and complete doctrine, authority, and organization. Through Joseph Smith, the true and complete chruch was formed only by revelation. We do not worship Joseph Smith, but recognize him as a true prophet of God. We will always worship God and Jesus Christ.

Mormons are definitely Christians. We believe that Jesus is the Christ and son of the living God.

I've been a Mormon for my entire life, I honestly don't know what I would be doing right now if it were not for the church. I love it!!

I think you and your wife should pray about it, and ponder it in your hearts if its true or not. I can't and wont force it on you.

All I will say is that I am truly grateful for this church, I've been through a lot in my life, and if it were not for the gospel I don't think I could have handled my trials as easily.

I was raised Mormon, and even though religion is offensive to my sensibilities personally, I love Mormons. My parents stopped being active when I was 11, by the way. Detractors like to call it a cult --

6.a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.

-- there are other definitions of cult, but that's the one they mean, and it is obviously false. Mormons are everywhere and perfectly integrated. People feel particularly threatened by this religion because they have additional information that is exclusive which tends to excite outside Christians to the point of frothing/fury. Some say they are not Christians, but Mormons worship Christ as faithfully as those who would like them destroyed.

Mormons are the best people I have known, the most faithful I have known, and the least likely to be hypocrites of those who have preached to me. If they aren't the children of God, none of the mudslingers you'll find here are either.

Very interesting question you pose. Yes, Mormon's are Christians. Yes they believe in the Holy Bible but the Book of Mormon is there first doctrine they follow. You personally have to make the decision for yourself as to what you feel is best for you and your family. If your thinking of being Baptized Mormon you need to pray. Follow your feelings. I hate to tell you this is a heart based not mental based decision ( making a pros's and con's list)

If your human you will always search for answers about God!

Have you gone to Sacrament as a guest? Have you had meeting's with the Elder's in your local Ward?

I married into a Mormon family. I was raised as a Methodist. I studied for about 6 months and prayed and was Baptized May 2005.

But, my husband isn't a "perfect" Mormon so in our house it's a little more Mormon light. I didn't push my children into making the same decision as me. They need to learn more about God and family and then I'll let them decide if it's right for them.

I wish you all the best and my prayers are with you.

some who I know who want organized religion go to Non-Denominational churches.

Mormons are quite ethical. But they do have many beliefs that contradict Christian orthodoxy. They do not believe in the Trinity -Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-- for example. They also believe in "another" testament of Jesus Christ, which is repudiated in the New Testament.

If you are looking for a Christian community that lives life with more devotion, I am sure you can find something and also keep your orthodox faith. There are many great ministries you can get involved with.

Ok, to set the record straight, a Christian is simply someone who believes in Christ. Hence the word. someone who believes in Christ and that he IS the Son of God, and that He died to atone for our sins is a Christian. The Mormon faith is BASED on this. Therefore, they are Christians.

And, not to say one way or the other, but do you HONESTLY believe that God would cause one set of books to be written and leave us with that and no further instruction? Personally I don't think so. Revelation continues to this day. and will continue til the end of time.

I have lots of LDS friends, and I admire them tremendously.

But I also think that Mormonism is something that was conjured up in the 19th century from a bizaar mixture of theological soup: Polygamy, Masonic rites, etc.

Ultimately, Mormonism will collapse or change dramatically on the basis of its extensive errors regarding Mesoamerican culture. Unlike the Bible, which tracks known history and archeology quite nicely, the Book of Mormon declares all sorts of things about life in the early americas that are not holding up in the face of advancing archeological knowledge.

Search your heart because Mormonism is a cult. Check out the book: Kingdom of the Cults. In the book it lists all the religions that are cults. Stay Christian and keep the idea of living a holy life. Please pray to God about this is as well, maybe the Holy Spirit will guide you.

I think Mormons may be the nicest people I've ever met. I appreciate their standards of morality. However, I believe the Book of Mormon is a false gospel and Joseph Smith is a false prophet. I think Mormonism is counterfeit Christianity, and I take no pleasure in saying that. I know that their family oriented way of thinking is attractive.

Please....do not join this church. Find a good bible teaching church and stick with the bible only.
