My friend I call that a very good question. I say that because I was confronted with this a few years ago.
I was and still am on a very serious study of the Bible seeking only constantly consistent truth. I was exposed to many religions meaning organized religion and I wanted no part of it because of the flaws I saw. Please I said I saw and did not say they were wrong OK. They were just wrong in my view and wrong for me.
I could not in a clear conscience join any besides I read in Acts that the Lord added to the Church so why should I join. I was content to belong to the Church that My God did put me in OK.[Acts 2:47]
I searched and searched for a name and could only come up with the name "NO". With that I could answer all those questions like What is your religion, What is your belief? What group do you belong to? etc, etc,.
It has stuck with me so I still use it today. I am the only "NO" I Know and I am very content. Why don't you become a "NO" or better yet a DEBBiiEEEE_NO. You see I am not asking you to join me but I like it that you are unique and do stand strong with your God. You can not loose OK
Now smile and have a great day

If someone believes in God they're not an atheist. They might be Jewish, if they believe in God but not Christ, or a Muslim if they believe what Mohammed said, or a Christian if they believe in Jesus as our savior. Belief and following a particular religion don't always coincide. I'm christian, but don't believe everything any denomination says, so I don't really fit into a denomination, but I'm still christian.

You cannot be an atheist and believe in God, if you are an atheist you don't believe in God.
I call it 'spiritual'

It's called fear, because you don't believe in any religion but you are scared to call yourself an atheist just in case their is a god afterall. ;)

you're on your thank you to the two starting to be your very own faith or turning out to be an atheist. Rejecting faith is in many cases the 1st step for many atheists. After that they could desire to come to words with how they like to handle their lingering god superstitions. you will discover that as quickly as you throw off the chains of religion God will proceed to get smaller and smaller until the assumption of god turns into ridiculous. or you additionally could make up your very own faith and merely use your mind's eye to advance your very own theory of god.

on the questionnaires it is listed as "spiritual but not religious". in the word origin dictionary religion is defined as "to control belief". i believe in GOD but refuse to let any man or woman tell me HOW to believe or practice that belief.
