I know it's hard to single out the differences,but what I want to know is the differences in terms of editors used in these two OS's and other simple differeces like this.

Linux is just another version of Unix but with some slight differences. For example, there are lots of different versions of Linux because it's more popular but there is only a handful of versions of Unix such as FreeBSD. Linux is typically more like a GUI environment where Unix is more directed for die hard users. Unix is also many respects more secure than Linux though both are more secure than Windows (by far). Mac OSX is based off FreeBSD if you didn't know about that - so it's a Unix based system.

ya both the answers r right.
linux is written by linus torovald in 1992.
linux - free avilable so it rapidly develop u can change kernal code
unix -not free & develp by bell lab .
but the linux is copy of unix.but due to rapid development in linux there is many diffrence.
