Jesus did not have to go around saying Worship me or telling people who he was - He said , "he who has ears to hear..."
All of the prphecies point directly to who he is .
In Isaiah, where the prophecy of Christ's birth is given- notice the names that He will be called:
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, The EVERLASTING FATHER , The Prince of Peace.
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
All throughout the ministry of Jesus he said that revelation of who he is comes by the Holy Spirit. Don't get me wrong, there is one true God -not three and not the 'parts or seperate beings' and the flesh part of Jesus was just that, flesh, but the fullness of God, everything that God is dwelt in Jesus. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh
There are several scriptures, several hints and keys to understanding who Jesus is, putting together thingsi n the OT with things Jesus said in the NT- it is not something you are going to get a revelation of here- if oyu have read you know these scriptures- it takes prayer, study and a heart ready to accept the truth- Jesus said who do you say that I am? That is the most important question.

I think you want to make the challenge for them easy, but even if they brought a verse from the Bible it will not help because the Bible without any doubt has been changed according to Paul and later Constantin desires and others. The Bible and the holy Quran are both real God Books but the first was corrupted and changed and the Quran was preserved and it is evidence based, the bottom line if the Bible says Jesus God or son of God and the Quran says no it is not I will go with what the Quran says.

God said that Jesus was His Son--read Matthew for the specifics of this prophecy. His birth was foretold from the Pentateuch, going from the general to the specific as to tribe, family, birthplace and circumstances of His birth. As a point of interest, both Joseph and Mary were descendants of King David.
And, by the way, they didn't use surnames in those days. More or less, He was recognized as Yeshua the son of Joseph, though Roman writings refer to Him more often by His mother's name. In actual fact, Jesus is a more current rendering of His name, which was really quite common in His day and age, kind of like John is today. Christ is not His surname, it is His Title: Jesus the Christ, more properly.
As to the accuracy of the prophecies in the Bible. . . there are numerous, if you are willing to see them, but probably the two most stunning are Tyre, whose destruction was completed by Alexander the Great, and the site of which has never since been inhabited, though it is imminently desireable land, in a terrain that boasts very little in the way of desireability. And the other is the city of Petra, which 'disappeared' many centuries BC, and was only recently unearthed, just as the Bible describes. You might try looking it up for all the particulars. Or just watch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade--that's Petra.
But. as has already been observed, if you aren't willing to listen, you certainly won't hear any of the proof you seem to be asking for. As the Christ said, 'None so blind as those who will not see.'
Let me pose you a question, if you will. Why do you think God didn't give us absolute proof? There are certainly many possibilities for His doing so, if He had wished.

It's pretty clear in the Bible.
John 14:6-7 - "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well'"
This makes two claims
1. Jesus is the only way and must be worshipped.
2. Jesus is the son of God
#2 was foretold in the old testiment.

did you know that when Jesus said i am the way the truth and the light he was refering to the three doors that led to the holy of holies (the most holy part of the Jewish tabernacal and later temple) they were the only doors to the place where God was supposed to be. so Jesus is the only way in. John the baptist said in john ch 1 v34 "i have seen and testify that this is the son of God." Jesus calls God father. luke ch 2 v49 matthew ch 10 v 33 matt ch 11 v26 +27 matt ch 26 v29 mark ch 8 v38 mark ch 14 v 36 luke ch10 v 21 luke ch 22 v29 luke ch22 v42 luke ch 23 v 26 john ch 2 v16 john ch 5 v18 + 19 John ch 5 v 22 john ch 5 v 36.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE WONDERING.
it should really be jesus the christ (christ means anointed one with the anointings) it is not his surname. it is the promised one of the jews (see the old testiment) also known as the messiah he is the christ but that is not his surname. his name is Jesus of nazareth.

Matthew 3:16-17, "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
There it is. Your question is answered. You need to read the Bible for yourself instead of taking other people's word for it.
As to Jesus being worshipped:
John 20:27-28, "Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."
Thomas called him God. Note that it was not an explicative as Jesus did not rebuke him.

There is no such thing as an "Ex" Christian. If one is of The Church then one is always of The Church. One who knows The Way, The Truth and The Life. will never turn from Him..
you know you will not be satisfied with any answer you are given. Thoiugh many will brobably give you the Chapters and verses. You will not find what you seek in "The Bible"...
What you seek can only come ffrom God. And it is only given to those who come to Him in The Way He proscribes... The Way is not through the mind... it is through The Heart...
I accept honest email questions concerning The Basics of The Christian Faith. Or, you may read some about what you ask at:
http://pages.zdnet.com/mikevanauken/outreach/id6.html
I invite you to read my testimony as well. You do not need a "Bible" to find what you seek... but, you will find much in one after you find your way to God in The Way He proscribes.

All honest seekers welcome

I'm a Christian and I don't find in the Bible a straightforward statement claiming the Jesus's last name is Christ, at least not a claim made by Jesus himself. Later generations came to this conclusion and I stand in that tradition.

John 14:6 (New International Version)
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
I'm not a Christian. Islam is just as ignorant as Christianity.

I do have the proof. I picked up a VHS tape of Jesus doing God like things from an Isreali trader who came through these here parts some time back. Swapped me two gallons of maple sryup and a sack of fine corn for this stone VHS tape, now all I need is a VHS player made from stone! Said he'd be back next year so I'll let you know.
