I am a hard-core dancer and gymnast and i do either one or both at least everyday. I sweat very, very, very hard and my hair always ends up sweating out and my styles get ruined.

i am a black girl. i don't use relaxers and perms in my hair...and never have. When i have to do something with my hair i wet it and it curls up and i just slick it back into a ponytail(it doesn't get nappy when i wet it like some black womens hair does).----i thought about cutting my hair , what do you think???

oh yeah...... and I'M TIRED OF WEARING BRAIDS!!!!

hey i had the same problem with my hair when i was a dancer years ago. I am also black and i WORE BRAIDS ALL THE TIME. Try a quick weave or a sewn in wear, see they braid your hair and sow the hair into your braids your hair sweats but your weave don't or shouldn't sweat as bad you just have to find someone good at ding it because it has to be done right to last

good luck

I am another black girl with beautiful hair. I had the same problem, but I did relax it. That was the easy way out. I have no problems to this day, but if thats a road you are not willing to take then I know another way. If you wanna keep a curly style use Garnier Fructic Sleek n Shine shampoo and conditioner, towel dry, and put about the size of a gold dollar amount of Garnier Fructis soft curl cream. Let it air dry. You can wear this style out or pulled back without it frizzing. If you wanna wear it straight, you gotta go to the shop. Have them wash it with the same shampoo and conditioner, and blow dry it bone straight. Add Garnier Fructis anti frizz serum and wrap it. Let it down when you need to and keep it wrapped in a silk scarf when sleeping or sweating. Add hair polish to keep from drying and trim split ends every six weeks. Good Luck. And, girl, YOU BETTER NOT CUT YOUR HAIR!!

Wear a TWA (teenie weenie afro). That will probaby be very adorable on you. Have it tapered on the sides and back.

Check out Black Hair Style magazines. Go to www.naturallyyoumagazine.com That website and magazine is loaded with information for Black hair care.

Wearing a TWA and pair a small earrings or post earrings while performing (if allowed) and a larger pair when not performing would be sooooo cute.

You would no doubt look simply Gorgeous!!!

I share your pain. I have tried braiding it and it probably works the best but is too time consuming and restrictive on style. I also cut my hair very short and that was awesome for the summer but sucked during the winter. Now I just put it in a pony tail, so when I am not working out and going somewhere I can style it.

If you can just wet your hair, go on and cut it short, very short.

I would try a cute super short style. It would also be a great time to try drastic haircolor changes. Since it would be so short, you could try it out, withouth having to commit to anything long term. You can always grow it back out, so you can wear a ponytail or braids. I think anything in between would just be the same of what you have, only shorter.

I suggest you do braids or cornrows with your own hair while working out and as soon as your hair dries from sweat wear your hair in the pattern that it falls in by simply taking your plaits, twists or ,braids out.Or, do double strand twists, these twists will allow you to do your normal activities and still have a hairdo afterwards

Find a cute shorter hair style that would also fit your everyday style. A good stylist would be able to recommend a cut for you.
