Some people live in such a homogeneous society to the point they simply don't understand the whole concept of others' beliefs and other religions. First of all, not all religions have a God or god like figure.
Secondly, most religions are designed to spread it's own influence as opposed to uniting different kinds of religions. This is the reason why the ones that are around today still exist. Those that were open to new ideas and changes etc simply died out or got too liberal to the point nobody was obligated to keep them alive.
And lastly, there is no religion in this world that is perfect and can solve every possible social and logical dilemma. They are just there to keep communities from falling apart and keep individuals have a platform to keep their minds straight.
We can only unite when we all understand what religion is truly about and that it was the humans who came up with these ideas. But this is very unlikely to happen as most religions don't allow us to think outside of the rigid brain washing it imposes upon us.

Very simply, people with out Biblical knowledge assume that all religions Worship the same God, while only two do. Buddha was not a God at all as all Buddhist understand. He was a man who went up in a mountain and received enlightenment. Allah is a moon God and not the God of Abraham. Even certain other groups do not worship the God of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob, Who is a jealous God and will not tolerate Idols, demigods or any false Gods. What business has the light with darkness?

Because he's not the object of worship to all. Some are more intersted in money or power or reputation or hiding behind the mask or whatever. If God truly were the only object of worship, we would be united.

It is man's dogma that has created many differing religions. Many faiths are convinced that they alone are correct. With this view, the faiths are concerned about spreading their views and gaining new believers. Sadly, I do not foresee a drive toward unity.

Because all religions are different. Religion is man's attempt to clothe himself in holiness. That can take the form of church attendance, altruism, charity, doing goods works. These are all good things, and should be done, but not to reconcile yourself to God. All religions always fail. What you need to do is have a personal relationship with Christ. Belong to a good Bible believing church, and study the Bible.

Well not all religions worship one deity. Some religions have many deities others have none. I for one don't worship or believe in a god with human emotions that's judging our every move. I believe in a pantheist god that is presented in all of life. Religions will never unite.

God created Christianity and Satan created "Christian" religion. No, all religions don't point towards God. In fact, no religion points towards God. He points us toward himself through the Bible which is his Holy Word. If we want to approach God, we have to do it his way on his terms and those are all clearly spelled out in the Bible. Any religion that does not agree with the Bible is born of Satan.

Because different religions have different "gods". There is only one true God and only one way to God, by Jesus Christ. There cannot be unity where there is contradiction.

If we had unity, we wouldn't need to teach it. There would be just one large church, and all the people would get along, and there wouldn't be all this dissention, not to mention wars.
