You quote from what you read, is why. And it is a very poetic phraseology, memorable and very quotable. Also, it was for many years the primary Bible publicly available, more or less the 'official' Bible of the Western world. Because so many of the emigrees to America read that version, and because people are more comfortable with the familiar, and many Christians have to make everything a matter of religion, some still consider it the only valid version. In fact, among some sects, this is the subject of lively debate.
In actuality, it is no more accurate than any other, and less accurate than many--owing to certain societal biases which the writers included, for whatever reason. But it was an earnest and sincerely researched attempt to translate the material into English. No point debating its accuracy, but if you don't like this version--granted its archaic language makes for heavy reading to the average reader of today--try the New King James. It is equally earnest, and derived from a wider source material, including the newly found Dead Sea Scrolls. And it's written in a much more current form of English, while still retaining much of the poetic quality which made King James so appealing.
Why do you care?

Good question poorly put!
Why not start sentences/questions with capital letters?
Why disregard capitals in 'Christian' & 'King James Version'?
Why use such a repulsive avatar?
The King James Version I use is purely out of conviction that it has been most closely associated with the intent & spirit of the translations from other languages.
In the dictonary definition of clique things, yes, unfortunately with more & more rejection of Christianity we are ~
a narrow exclusive circle or group of persons; especially : one held together by common interests, views, or purposes.
Does this help you with your questions, Y. A. H.? [+2!]

Because, they prefer it to other versions....Duh! Something you seriously need to do, because you haven't a clue about the Bible and the reality of Jesus Christ. You're not very well liked on this site .......are you! Why? because you ask stupid questions, ridicule The true faith, which is Christianity, and for some reason, they haven't thrown you off this site. Now there's a thought, you can't face the truth can you.....?
By the way, you're the spitting image of your descendent, I think you'll end up impaling your own head. Reading all these Answers and Questions.....there is no doubt that you are just out to score points.....nothing else. People are trying to help you and I can see now you're as dumb as you look.
What benefit is that going to do you and the intelligent people who are out to find good, honest and sincere questions!

Way to go Charlie, you've sussed this guy out for sure.
Come on Man do yourself a favour and find a site that brings you down to your level of intelligence........that will be hard.
You do nothing but insult the Christian Faith and we Christians come on here to help people, ask questions and find answers seriously. If anyone needed to be Saved, You're the guy, but everyone need Christ, so I will continue to pray for you.
I know a few people who were drinking every night, some are in rehab, some are dead, the rest have found Jesus Christ as their Saviour and are "Cured" of their addiction.
Oh and Charlie, don't worry about his little black book, looking at him he probably can't read or write................!

Hello,
because this version was a very accurate translation. But I think, if you really want understand what the writers want say, you should study the Oxford annotated new revised version. This version includes several translation in one, they are marked with footnotes and this version includes information about the historical background.

The KJV of the bible is the most used version.
Would you prefer they quoted the West Indian version, which I can assure you does exist.

Well that's all they know - how can you expect them to tell anything beyond what's in the Bible apart from a Alphabet... Even during 9/11 they checked the Bible to see whether anything was there - set of confused people !

Because they feel that the King James version is the more accurate, original version and all subsequent versions lose their "essence" in their translations.

The King James version is the version that is written the most poetically. Maybe that's why people like it; it has a...rhythm to it.
