Have you tried the Marlin Rifle website? They make one of the best, modern .45-70s. Also try Ruger Firearms. They make a really good Ruger #1 in that caliber.

I would go to a gundealer and see what they will sell them for. If you go to the manufactures web site they will list the suggested retail price, but dealers usually sell them for about 100-200 less than the MSRP.
Do some searching and see which Make and Model you are interested in then go check at a shop.

i searched the internet for gun prices and find some very decieving.
if you really want to price up a .45-70 go to a good reputable gun dealer and they usually have catalogs and pricing lists.
myself if i were to buy a .45-70 it would be a marlin lever action or a single shot thompson contender carbine.
