Agree or disagree....

When people write questions - does it bother you that they don't take the time to spell check or to at least think the question out??

I just sit here looking at the question thinking.... what the hell.... Most of them call believers stupid but they fail to realize that their english is worse than a 6yr old and they are just making themselves look bad.

You seem to be attributing this to non-believers exclusively... yet I observe that atrocious grammar and spelling seems to occur in proportion to the demographic in this venue, which seems to be proportional to the USA population of the US... 80/10... Christians/nonbelievers. Further... many of the participants live in places other than the US, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand... and for them, English is a second language. (What is YOUR second language?) Give 'em a break.

Yes, I agree. I pretty much ignore questions that are simply here to get a rise out of people, are poorly written or make no sense. My time is too precious to waste it on unintelligible questions. Maybe it reflects the quality of a public school education in this country.

I'm not perfect myself myself: heck I checked out Roxy's photo before I answered this question and then had to search for my eyeballs on the floor.

Sister, some people are just more educated then others, and some more distracting. Just don't let it bother you we're all only human.

Yes it does bother me that people don't use spell check. Yes it bother me that in some cases people do not seem to think out their questions or answers.

I sure that if they wanted, people can find something to complain about in how you word your question or how I word my answer.

I sure some people would complain that you over use ellipses. My complaint if I must come up with one, is that "whole new level of frustration" is not your question.

I would partially agree. While abysmal spelling, grammar, and content are common in this particular area, the questions written by people of faith seem to be more afflicted by this phenomenon than those who identify themselves as atheist or agnostic. One exception seems to be the short, flaming answers you might expect from the young and the point-gamers, where they seem to be equally distributed, more or less.

It does bother me that people can easily save themselves the embarrassment of answers like "learn how to spell!", if they would simply click on"Check Spelling".

I think part of it is laziness and part of it is nonchalance.

But overall it's just ridiculous!

I agree. I don't ask for posts to be perfect - mine aren't - and spell check doesn't catch everything. But if I have to sit and look at it for five minutes just to translate through the typos, IM speak and strange verbiage then I just skip it.

You worry to much about the wrong things. My bet is that you are hard to get along with and far to judgemental on every subject. My guess is that you make fun of people and that would make you the worst kind of person. Just a guess. I would still bet money on it.

Yes, it bothers me, but I try to understand what they are asking and answer it anyway. Yahoo does provide the nice Check Spelling feature.
