Do you mean a growth, like a tumor? If it is benign (meaning it is not cancerous), no it wouldn't unless it was in a strategic place like the brain or another vital organ and cut of its blood supply. If it is cancerous, and only a vet can tell for sure by operating on the cat and cuttiing a piece out for a biopsy, then yes, it could definitely, especially if its cells move to other parts of the body.
If your cat has a growth, you really should make an appointment with the vet and have them check it out.

Any growth on a cat that protrudes from the cat's body is a matter of concern and needs to be examined by a vet. It could be a cancer that has come through from the inside or a superficial benign tumor on the surface of the body.
It is definitely something a vet needs to see and diagnose.
