Of course a parent's love is unconditional. I have three sons - 28, 25 and 22 and I have not always loved their choices, but you better believe I have ALWAYS loved my sons. It's not even something you can control, from the moment you lay eyes on that precious child, well even before actually, you know in your heart that no matter what, and I mean no matter what, you will always love them. My youngest son is a heroin addict who is now serving time in prison for crimes related to his drug addiction and it has been a helluva ride over the last five years, but not once, not even for a second did I not love him. It wasn't even an option!

It almost has to be because they are going through so much during teen age years. the only way that you can teach them how to grow up right is to love them unconditionally. now loving does not mean giving in to their behavior which can range from rude, obnoxious, etc. but they are still children after all. granted they are children that think they know everything. but they are children. hopefully if you have been training them up right all along, it won't be to bad. too many times people thing that everything that their child does is "cute" and don't correct behaviors, then when they are teenagers, the behavior is not cute anymore, but by then it's too late. so parents, as the adults we are responsible for how are children turn out.

Absolutely! I've raised three girls who are now all in their thirtys. At no time did they ever have any doubt that we loved them and wanted what was best for them. You have to be the strong arm and have no fear in dealing with your teens. No means no!!! Keep in mind how you felt at their age, give them opportunitys to express themselves openly without judging them. They are searching for their place in society, whether if it's what you want or not. Observe their strengths and don't be so critical of weakness. Find common ground to build conversations, show them your goofy side once in a while. When you are at a dead end with them simply grab them and hug them and tell them I love you so much! Knowing how deeply you love them will always be on their mind. Teens want boundaries and will respect you for setting them. I'm proud to say all three of my girls are all very successful strong independant women who love their parents. Just remember.....no fear.....and that "tough love" concept is a bunch of crap, if you turn away from your child, that's a death sentence.....Best of luck...

Absolutely! I don't always like what they say or do, but I always love them dearly and unconditionally. And I try to make sure they know that, and understand the distinction.
