Right yesterday I had my brace tighten (no big) I also had a "6 attached do-dar" which is attached to the hook thing (on the left side) along to every tooth to the large incisor on the right side (its see-through) - it’s acting like the coloured bands. However i'm in agony! My mouth didn’t feel in this much pain ever, I was a lot pain when I had it put on May last year, but to this pain it was nothing. I’ve been taking 2 paractamol every 4 hours, and it doesn’t seem to work. I can’t eat anything which even looks like it may need chewing and I’m having great difficulty brushing my teeth I either break down in tears because of the pain or I have to stop. Ive tried that bongela or whatever it’s called and it did NOTHING! The dentist said it would hurt a little, for a few hours; I had it done about 48 hours a go and it hasn’t got any better! I feel like if i ripped out all my top teeth id be in less pain.
Please any help!!
apparently it was a power chain or elastic summit

I fully appreciate how you are feeling. Been there myself. It can hurt for up to a week after having it tightened. But no pain, no gain. It's worth it in the end. However, if its still killing you, then go back to him and make sure nothing is amiss.

Your orthodentist ought to have an emergency phone number. Call the office and hear in the voice message if there is an emergency phone, and call it now. You should not be in this much pain. Good luck!

okay I had one of those on when I had braces. yes it does hurt like hell. it will stop eventually but there's nothing really you can do other than taking painkillers for it. sorry I know this won't help but I truly sympathise.
