Clarifying shampoo once a week. Or add a teaspoon of vinegar to your favorite shampoo once a week and leave in for a few minutes. It dissolves the minerals that have been deposited on the hair shaft from the hard water. It has nothing to do with your hair type, and moisturizers will not help.

You should use a clarifying shampoo. Redken makes one. Use it two to three times a week. Leave it on few a couple of minutes then rinse off. Then follow up with a real good conditioner. As far as your regular shampoo. Is your hair fine with alot of it or really fine and thin? If it is fine and thin you may want to try Noxin shampoo and conditioner for thin hair. It doesn't weigh it down. And helps it to look fuller without drying it out. If your scalp is itchy you may want to use Paul Mitchell Tea tree shampoo and conditioner. You didn't state whether your are using a conditioner or not. You really need to use both a shampoo and conditioner.

there is a product out that you can add to your shampoo the strips all the hard water chemicals off the hair shafts, this usually will do the trick if you use it like once a week in your shampoo, always buy good shampoo and try to do a hot oil treatment to your hair 1 time a week.. it is easy to do, just warm up regular vegggie oil in a small cup, you only need about a shot glass full and you can warm it in the microwave for about 20 or 30 sec, warm up a damp towel in the microwave as well and cover your head with the towel and repeat the warming of the towel as needed until you have done it for an hour or so, then wash your hair a couple of times with the good shampoo to remove the extra oil in the hair and condition with a good conditoner.. these things all help.. good luck!!

You can use a clarifying shampoo once a week to help remove the rust and lime that your hard water is depositing on your hair. There is also a gel treatment you can buy either from your beauty shop or a beauty supply shop for just that problem. You can buy bottled water to rinse your hair, also. Good Luck!
