It depends on the amulet you are trying to make and the tradition you follow. Christian Witchcraft is a pretty broad category really. You should never have to buy anything. Actually, in any witchcraft tradition, the more of yourself you invest in anything, especially when you make most or all of it yourself, the more positive and powerful the result. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I am always open to helping in this area.

An amulet is anything that you feel a connection with that has a deep meaning to you. It can be anything from a stone/gem pendant for a necklace, to something found at a flea market or pawn shop, to a metal pendant carved with words- pretty much anything. You don't have to buy one. It can be an heirloom or created yourself. You could take a bit of clay and work it into a circle or square (whatever shape you feel is right), take a stylus (or food skewer with a sharp end, or a fine-pointed knife) and carve words into it in whatever language you want. Make sure to leave room at the top to put a small hole or holes to thread a chain or leather string through (sticking an oiled swizzle stick through and leaving it when you cure it would make a perfectly sized hole). Then glaze it or bake it in the oven to cure the clay. Most clays and art putties that can be used for that kind of thing will have instructions on how to make the finished piece good for use. :)

hi:}
to me an amulet is simply a specific stone ,gem ,to which you can attach by using rawhide or wire ,,,i have several ,like if i want my emotions to remain calm i will wear my rose quartz amulet.
or if i am going to be around someone negative i might wear my purple ameythest and so on and so on .an amulet can be for health issues or any sort of healing ,the indians had amulets made for secific purposes ,especially when going into battle .or if someone was sick ,they would use healing ingredients and hang it around the persons neck for strength .
get some info through any of the metyphysical shops ,some have amulets already made .read up on the different properties of gems ,stones ,crystals,etc and figure out which one might be for you ,,,you can even go online and get info on the different types of stones and what they mean and how they can affect you ,it is trying and using different ones to see what feels right to you ....................
