They love annoying their parents and family!

My guess is because they've never been taught boundaries by their parents. Too many 'parents' let their offspring do whatever they want thinking that makes for good parenting. In reality, it is the cruelest (and laziest, and most irresponsible) thing to do in the long run.

Too many kids today are brought up with no respect for authority in any form, whether its a parent, a teacher or a policeman. And what happens? Lo and behold the kid finds 'everyone's out to get me', can't integrate, falls foul of the system and ends of scraping through life - all for the lack of being taught parameters as a kid by the parents.

Kids crave attention. They also crave discipline. They know when to stop but they push limits to see if you are on your game. Watch how they peek over to you while they are misbehaving. If you help them learn early where the line are drawn, they will love and respect you (and authority) more in the long run. Just remember. If you dont teach them when to stop, the judge, police and correctional officers will.

Because they are what they are children. It is up to the parent to show them when they are mischievous or just misbehaving. As long as there is not a big problem with discipline, let them play. They grow up so fast that maybe one day you will be wishing they were kids again.

i squires 2001 - says it all.

You didn't say in what sense, if you mean they don't know when to stop being a pain in the bum, it's because it is their job to keep us on our toes. It is our job to guide them along the right path and to make the right choices in life.

No sense of restraint. It'll kick in as they mature.

Of course, some people never grow up.
