Most of the one i see crying about immigrants. Are either young or has no idea of the laws for visas.first of all you should know what you are talking about before you speak.People claim they want to stop illegal immigrants then change the laws.
I am a American faced with the laws of immigration in order to bring my wife here to live.So i know what i am talking about. The laws as they stand are worng.
First for spouse of people do away with visa. But do a back round check and medical check. That is fair.
Second let them that can find sponcers though family or employment come here and work. But also start taxeing them as we Americans are taxed.Dont give them five years without paying taxes. This will boost the econamy
Third any immigrant that is caught here illlegally would loose all chances of ever being able to come back to the USA legally.
Fourth have the same policies as there country does on vistor visa for vacations. Now cry babies what wrong with this?

Then why did the US goverment come to the Philippines to hire teachers doctors and nurses This was done 6 months ago.I know i was there. And immigrants do not pay taxes for the first five years.Because the government knows they will have to pay to there own country

I see a few of you still don't understand. And the one that claims to be in the medical field really scares me.I hope you are not a LPN or RN or Doctor.
By changing the laws this way.You would have less people coming here illegally.Because there they would be afriad that they could never come here legally. And the one who have sponcors would not need to take any money away from anyone else.
Seem to me some people just like to complan and don't even know what they are talking about.

I agree with you all the way and want to add one more.
Stiff penalties for employers who hire illegals, including jail time for the bosses.
I hear all the time, "Americans don't want to work in the fields." Bull, they won't work for the slave wages paid to illegals. Yes we do need some foreign workers, but they need to be paid decently.
Toss all the illegals out and invite guest workers in. No one works without papers (real green cards). You can always tell companies that hire illegals. When the Border Patrol shows up, half the workers have disappeared.

i dont' get it, are you for this or against this... your question is worded kind of bad.
"...The laws as they stand are worng..." You start out on a negative foot here, then
"...Now cry babies what wrong with this?..." and in end in an approving note.
i believe some immigrants take advantage of this country. lets say theres 2 million illegal immigrants not paying taxes and those 2 million illegal immigrants are employed and getting payed under the table. most employers list that money spent on ilegal workers as donations, donations are tax deductable... the government looses money two ways here... that all i disagree with. immigrants come to this country for a better life so they should give back to this country for the opportunity they got.

not sure what you are talking about in not paying taxes....we are immigrants and paid taxes from the first day my husband worked..we even paid into social security though you have to work for 10 years before allowed yo collect benefits...if you leave before 10 years ..you don't get it but that is OK...it is the rule and we knew it
yes.rules need to be changed...I am an immigrant living here for 6 years on an H14 (husband on an H1B) but I cannot work because only my husband's job is listed/.as acceptable jobs but mine is not ..I have 2 Bachelors degrees and am currently working on my Masters..but does not fall into any categories... for example teachers, social workers (what I am) cannot get visas, because it is not on the list of qualifying jobs...but I don't work illegally because it is wrong...I am frustrated but I will wait and play by the rules...
we have applied for a green card.....but that was almost 3 years ago.....so far we haven't even hit the first stage ..that is how backlogged the system is....
I often wonder how they are going to process these 12 million illegals when they can't even process the legal ones.....
however , as frustrated as I am I still will say..this is a great country and well worth waiting for

I haven't heard anyone (with the exception of a few here) complaining about immigrants.
I do see a lot of complaints about illegal immigrants.
I do agree with your points, except I think anyone here illegally and caught should go to the back of the line so to speak the first time, but then be barred from ever coming if caught here illegally again. And I think employers should be examined more closely and fined for allowing illegals on the payroll. I know of one company that has one employee who changes his name frequently. That should be a clue.

We don't want to import poverty. We have limits on how many poor people can come because education and other benefits for poor people costs more than they pay in taxes. Each one is a net cost to the rest of us and degrades health care and education services by that amount. 12 to 20 million degrades education enormously in areas where illegals concentrate. We are willing to cover these costs for our own poor, but not for masses of the poor from other countries. Their own countries should educate them and give them basic health care, not us.
We don't say 'come legally' because it is easy to come if you will cost the rest of us money and quality of services. It isn't easy and shouldn't be. There are numeric limits included in the concept of coming legally, which those coming legally are respecting. Those coming illegally are figuring we should pay for their better life at the expense of our own children's future and our own people's health care.
Guess which group of immigrants we like better?

Not a whole lot, except the part about "loose all chances of ever...." I think that may be a little strong. Other countries treat us like dirt...I am to the point of really not caring about their problems. Free trade in a free market...easiest system to handle.
