First Sabbath is Saturday. It means to NOT work, trade-sell or buy. And spend the day with God praying, singing and praising Him.

It's funny that a lot of Christians think the Sabbath is on Sunday, Even though the Bible explicitly states that it's the LAST day of the week. According to Jesus, we don't need to honor the Sabbath anymore, remember when he stopped that guy from getting arrested for doing work on a Saturday? The Jews are the only ones who still honor the Sabbath. I personally don't work on Saturdays and I pity anyone who does, but that's not for religious purposes. The Bible doesn't explicitly mention anything about going to church on Sunday, other than honoring the fact that Jesus was ressurected on a Sunday.

For Christians, it means nothing. They don't observe the Sabbath. They have the "Lord's Day" (Sunday), and even then, they pretty much do whatever they want.
However, for those who take the Sabbath (Saturday) seriously, they do go to get lengths to respect the law of having a day of rest (no work). Even some of the modern appliances today have "Sabbath mode" technology. I was in a Jewish hospital visiting a friend, and I noticed that they have a "Sabbath elevator", and there were also "Sabbath doors" -- the significance of which I am not aware.

the sabbath day was origanily saterday. i have heard storys about why it changed but i don't know the answer to that. any way i don't think it matters exactly what day it is so long as you have one. i think part of it is resting.because when God gave us the sabbeth day he called it a day of rest so part of it is having a break from work. i think it is also to give us time to focus on God coz when we are working sometimes we get so busy that we leave God out having a sabbath day means there is a day when we are not cluttered with work and can focus. it is also better for our health to have a day when we don't work. this does not mean that you cannot not have fun on the sabbath or that you should ignore God for the rest of the week. you could read jeremiah ch17 v21 - 27 it is God teling the isralites to keep the sabbath holy it does a bit of explaining.

my personal opinion saturday is the seventh day of the week, sunday used to be but the dumbasses decided to change the calander. anyways, to keep the sabbath holy you must not do any physical labor for profit. i enjoy doing my hobbies on the sabbath day but i dont work extra hard at them and i am not making any kind of profit out of them, besides, they are relaxing and calming after a long work week

Technically it means go to Church and don't do anything else. No working, no entertainment, no spending money or accepting money, no sleeping with your wife/husband (because of course that's the only person you sleep with...). You're not even supposed to lift anything that weighs more than approximately two pounds, because that's considered work.

The sabbath law was given to the Israelites and they observed it from sun-down Friday to Sun-down Saturday.
If you are not Jewish, such a law was not given to you!
Why observe a rule found only in another nation?

it is a day to stop all things....worship God....and repent on your sins...nothing is to be done...even killings....remember the story in the bible...when the Jews were told not to fight on The sabbath...that day many were slaughtered
