for head lice - RID-EX - as for the thumb sucking - she should grow out if it - don't worry - it's a coping mechanism or an insecurity - if you make her feel she is doing something wrong, it may become problematic - the pediatrician can help u better with this.

As far as a the thumbsucking, if all else fails, try a thumb guard. You can buy them commercially, or make your own. Just do a search for thumbguard and you will get lots of info. It's basically a little contraption they wear over their thumb that makes it impossible to suck. Don't wait for the thumbsucking to stop. They should be done thumbsucking by 2 years old. It can hinder oral and speech development, and misshape their mouth and teeth.
As far as the head lice, Rid works, but you have to take the time to do it correctly. Take your time and get all the nits out. Shaving the head works too, but that isn't pretty on a little girl :) Make sure you wash all her bedding and any stuffed animals in HOT water too kill any other lice and eggs. Replace her pillow.

Thumb sucking is a comfort thing..it gives them security...she should stop that soon you might try putting something on it to make it taste bad like vinegar or something she doesn't like would probably help that....my papa used hot sauce I quit.....as far as lice there are several good remedies at the pharmacy also vinegar is a good home remedy and be sure to wash all combs and brushes in boiling water and wash all bed sheets and pillow cases any hats that have been worn...... you can get rid of them

I wouldn't worry too much. She still has her baby teeth so the gap problem may resolve itself when her adult teeth come through. I sucked my thumb until I was 10 years old and I have perfect teeth. Perhaps she could be given some other sort of comforter, but not a dummy. If you really are feeling separate have a chat with your practice nurse or dentist.

My daughter is a thumb sucker as well, so far I can't get her to stop either... I have a friend that had the same problem and as unfortunt as it is the only way her baby stoped was b/c he smached his thumb and it was too sore to suck. If you do get good advise will you e-mail it to me?
Head lice is easy to get rid of... go to a local pharmacy and ask for treatment.... (lice do tend to go to clean hair more then dirty hair if it makes you feel any better.) Repeat the treatment as needed. Also try to find out where the source of it is... daycare, school, family members. When you stop the sorce you stop the lice.

head lice? Go see your doctor. Or buy something at the local pharmacy. Thumb sucking is a habit, and most of the times, its something you can't stop.
