when children grow up, they often felt that their parents just don't understand them anymore. parents say no to party, say no to this and say no to that. in result, children try to find someone else who can understand them. BUT, THEY STILL LOVE THEIR PARENTS. i think it's more to they can not express their love to parents. for example, when children come home from shopping, they bring home a gift for parent, but the parent oftenly bubbling about how expensive the children had spent instead of thanking them for the gift.

Wow thats a tough one. I agree with you though. I have wondered how me and my mother became so distant. I have often taken the side of a boyfriend that turned out to be a jerk. She was often right but I felt the need to protect the man I loved. At the time anyway. I sometimes feel guilty after all she has done for me I am still like a child getting her own way

Sexual Hormones.......one researcher proofed that when a girl child is more attracted to his father over her growth and this is equally true in case of boy kids who are attracted to ther mothers therefore because of this they will tend to give or sacrifice for the person they love most that of the opposite sex of course.

Children are very self-focused. They don't forget that their parents love them, they just don't think about it. They also love their parents despite everything that goes on.

They don't forget. They just need this time to find out who they are. In time they will come back and remember where they came from. This is a normal phase of growing up.

They lose themselves in their exclusive romantic relationship. Some children don't forget that you're still there, but most (especially here in my country) others do.
