The sentence is from the lyrics of some musical, which I can't remember at the moment. The quote is actually "Money makes the world go 'round."

I take it the confusion is the word "'round" a slight contraction for the sake of the cadence of the song. Would it make more sense if you saw "Money makes the world go around?".

As I recall the scene in the musical, the song is being sung by a "gold digging" woman (one whose main interest in a man is his wealth). She is explaining herself by saying that she is justified in her rather single minded aproach to life because money actually makes the earth revolve. Not exactly literally true, but certainly has some metaphorical truth.

Hope that helps.

It means that everything in this world is powered, primarily, by money. You have to have money to eat, to be educated, to build a factory or office so people can have jobs there. You have to have money to buy and operate a car. You must have money to have shelter and clothes and everything else. So it means that money makes everything that happens on this earth, happen.

"go round" refers to the fact that the world rotates all the time and if it stopped, we would all go flying off into space. It is an expression that means, we depend so much on money that if the
money stopped, the world would stop turning and life would stop.

Mind you, it may not all be true--but that's what it means. : )

That means you can literally do anything you want when you are filthy rich. Buy anything, get anything and in some cases even bend the law. Money is a prime commodity in our time. Without it, your lifestyle would be very limited. But remember, money can buy anything but not everything.

it is 'AROUND' but hardly anyone makes the A R sound - - - Money makes the world Revolve - - - go on, provides the grease the lubricant for daily life - - - without money the Earth would freeze on its axis and all life would cease. Peace.

The world is moving constantly, if it was to stop, the would be some problems. Money is what keeps people where they are and gets people what they need. So the world better not stop. Realisticly and economically.
