AIDS is a wasting disease. I watched my favorite uncle in 14 months go from 6'3-230lbs to 6'3-127. AIDS allows other normally unimportant illnesses to consume. Shame with all the money the USGov't spends on military...*cough*, should allow just as much for AIDS research.

Many have gi problems with chronic diarrhea, or malabsorption and some get gi bleeding that is severe enough to warrant transfusions.
