You can't just "turn" somebody into someone else; maybe the reasons you like this girl are based on her life experiences and outlook - if she was a republican than she might not be the same person. You shouldn't ever try to change someone: you'll just turn her off. Why not talk to her about why she believes what she does? And why is it a big deal anyway?

Be nice to her, no matter her point of view. If she says something you absolutely don't agree to : just kiss her softly or nibble her ear or anything like that and say you don't agree. Make sure to give her a relaxed impression and never show being angry or over excited at any point !!
It may take some while, but in the end she will find out that you got it right.

Well, that is how Karl Rove started, he was also such a dork and when the girl he wanted to go out with would not because of the political opinion differences, he took this dark path.
What about the Carville/Matalin match up?

Only in America could this question come up - who cares? If politics is more important that your relationship, you need to reprioritise aspects of your life. My girlfreind is very pro EU, and i'm EU sceptic. That won't change - we deal with it, and move on!

You can't force someone into being another political affiliation.
If you like her, maybe you will just have to agree to disagree about politics.
You can't always agree about everying in a relationship.

If you love her, you'll respect her political beliefs. You don't have to agree with her, but at least respect her viewpoint.
My girlfriend and I don't always see things the same way, but that just makes things more interesting.

Give her facts. If she embraces them and makes the natural conclusion based on the facts, she IS a republican.
If, however, she ignores the facts and maintains her stance on the issue, she is a democrat and impossible to save.
