Hello!! :o) In its DAY - the King James Bible was like our 'Good News Bible'. It was translated in order to make it easier for 'regular folk' to understand. It is in THAT days 'modern language'. King James didn't RE-WRITE the Bible. Craig!! :o)

What's the difference between King James deciding the Bible or the self proclaimed prophet Mohammad dictating Divine policy? Ironic to say the least that both twisted the Bible/ Koran to their own means and both have caused massive bloodshed of innocents over the years.
Nice try in attacking Christianity. You view the Koran (written by a man who's criminal past is well documented) as gospel. At least Christan's have several versions of The Bible to refer to and develop rational decisions on their faith. Although Abraham's God is the same, Islam teaches a lifestyle and a punishment system not congruent to what has been written by the true prophets.
Perhaps you should revisit your beliefs and examine ALL writings before you condemn other religions.

From what I gather in history and biblical teachings, the Bible was originally written in Hebrew and Greek; for a while, not a lot of people could even read it; so, in 1611, King James commissioned folk to translate the bible to a more understandable, easy to read version. Since then, most folks have been reading this version. Of course, there have since been other more modern versions written and I prefer the Clear Word myself; But to get this straight, the Bible itself were written by men ordained by God to do so by Him; so yes, prophets, disciples, and ordinary people wrote the text. but King James just got it translated.

are you even Christian?
um.. king james was a king back about 500 years ago who had his royal court of theologist put together the books of the Bible and translated them from their original greek & latin into english.
the prophets and disciples wrote the Bible, with divine inspiration from God. king james did not write the Bible, he just had someone translate it so that ppl could read it and understand in their own tongue.
