I mean, can you travel to the beach in a few hours, or are you way inland. if so, how often do you go to the beach, if ever? i've heard of some who have never seen the ocean, and thats hard to imagin for someone like me who lives on an island where the furtherest from the sea you can get is about 2 hours drive.

I live 33 miles from Lake Michigan, it is big, can't see the other side, great beach, waves, tide, no salt and no sharks. We go a few times a year. We are planning to move to an island where we are close to the ocean. Love the water!

I live near San Francisco, so I'm only about 35-40 minutes from the beach. I don't go there often though, because the water is really cold and usually so is the weather. It's foggy there most of the time.

I live on the Left Coast of the USA in California. Here, we are less than two hour's drive from the Pacific Ocean and less than two hour's drive from the highest mountains in the country (outside of Alaska). We also have tons of rivers, lakes, forests, and all kinds of natural wonders. Tallest, largest and oldest trees in the world, for example. Lowest, and hottest, valley in the USA (Death Valley). Famous governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Disneyland, Silicon Valley, and on and on....

'nuff said?

Yes, 11 miles, go as often as possible, just can't afford to live any closer. During the winter with snow and waves the air is so fresh and very few others around.
