No, he doesn't need to. It's more for us, some people have an easier time thinking of it as a trinity. But if that doesn't work for you, then just think of it as one all powerful God. Sure, Jesus might be a little bummed about it at first, but he'll still love you anyway.

THE TRINITY CONCEPT IS DECEPTION AND GOD AND JESUS IS ONE ONLY IN THE WAY THEY THINK, THE PLAN FOR MANKIND. IT IS GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS THE SON. GOD IS A FAMILY AND IS REPRODUCING HISSELF WITH THOSE WHO KEEP HIS LAWS.
It may first be noted that the words “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (KJ) found in older translations at 1 John 5:7 are actually spurious additions to the original text. A footnote in The Jerusalem Bible, a Catholic translation, says that these words are “not in any of the early Greek MSS [manuscripts], or any of the early translations, or in the best MSS of the Vulg[ate] itself.” A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, by Bruce Metzger (1975, pp. 716-718), traces in detail the history of the spurious passage. It states that the passage is first found in a treatise entitled Liber Apologeticus, of the fourth century, and that it appears in Old Latin and Vulgate manuscripts of the Scriptures, beginning in the sixth century. Modern translations as a whole, both Catholic and Protestant, do not include them in the main body of the text, because of recognizing their spurious nature.—RS, NE, NAB.
Other evidence of its impersonal nature. Further evidence against the idea of personality as regards the holy spirit is the way it is used in association with other impersonal things, such as water and fire (Mt 3:11; Mr 1:8); and Christians are spoken of as being baptized “in holy spirit.” (Ac 1:5; 11:16) Persons are urged to become “filled with spirit” instead of with wine. (Eph 5:18) So, too, persons are spoken of as being ‘filled’ with it along with such qualities as wisdom and faith (Ac 6:3, 5; 11:24) or joy (Ac 13:52); and holy spirit is inserted, or sandwiched in, with a number of such qualities at 2 Corinthians 6:6. It is most unlikely that such expressions would be made if the holy spirit were a divine person. As to the spirit’s ‘bearing witness’ (Ac 5:32; 20:23), it may be noted that the same thing is said of the water and the blood at 1 John 5:6-8. While some texts refer to the spirit as ‘witnessing,’ ‘speaking,’ or ‘saying’ things, other texts make clear that it spoke through persons, having no personal voice of its own. (Compare Heb 3:7; 10:15-17; Ps 95:7; Jer 31:33, 34; Ac 19:2-6; 21:4; 28:25.)

The Trinity is not "for" God, but for humanity. God is God. Beyond all understanding.
God the Father in the language of Faith meaning "First" and and "Ultimate Authority".
God the Son reveals the Father, in relational terms. "No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him". Here the familial role is revealed. This is why we call Jesus the Word. The Two are One.
The Father and Son are revealed by the Holy Spirit. "Spoken through the Prophets". The Holy Spirit's mission is revealed throughout time. He inspires eternally from both the Father and Son through the One Gift of Spirit. Thus the Trinity is revealed.
The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and Son.
Again, the Trinity is not "for" God, but for humanity. God is God. Beyond all understanding.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end.
The true God has always from eternity existed in three divine Persons.
This is so because God is not isolated or alone in himself, He is love and community.
The false prophet Muhammed simplified the doctrines and mysteries of the Christian religion and came up with a oversimplified version: the heresy of Islam.
Sadly even some protestants have taken his lead and started to simplify the divine mysteries, sometimes leading to mere rationalism and Deism.

God doesn't need to do anything, but He does it for the benefit of man according to His plan.
What I believe...
What greater love could there be than for God to come down and live as a man, be tempted and not sin(as all men do), then die as a sacrifice for my (everyones) sin and pay a price that no one could pay.
And once someone accepts that payment, the one God works through them and intercedes by way of the holy spirit. It's all the one and true God
I would rather live knowing that because of Jesus death and conquering sin I am free and will be able to enjoy Him forever, than relying on my good deeds to get into heaven. Because no matter how good I am I still have fallen short of the glory of God, I have still sinned.
Love in Him

Do not try to understand God in human terms. When we do that, we limit our Mother/Father God to our understanding. Regarding the trinity, I believe that The Unity School of Christianity deals with it best. From www.unity.org:
"Unity interprets the religious terms Father, Son, and Holy Spirit metaphysically, as three aspects of mind action: mind, idea, and expression. This is the process through which all manifestation takes place."
Unity teaches, among other things, that, because we are God and God is in each of us, that the power of our mind, severally and jointly, manifest our reality.
If you doubt that is possible, read the book or view the DVD "What The Bleep..."

As the doctrine of the Trinity is indiscoverable by reason, so it is incapable of proof from reason. There are no analogies to it in Nature, not even in the spiritual nature of man, who is made in the image of God. In His trinitarian mode of being, God is unique; and, as there is nothing in the universe like Him in this respect, so there is nothing which can help us to comprehend Him. Many attempts have, nevertheless, been made to construct a rational proof of the Trinity of the God head. Among these there are two which are particularly attractive, and have therefore been put forward again and again by speculative thinkers through all the Christian ages. These are derived from the implications, in the one case, of self-consciousness; in the other, of love. Both self-consciousness and love, it is said, demand for their very existence an object over against which the self stands as subject. If we conceive of God as self-conscious and loving, therefore, we cannot help conceiving of Him as embracing in His unity some form of plurality.

the whole essence is do you know who God is . if you dont then how canyou understand anything at all about his being. rememeb r God is not a human being he is super natural no man can understand him and its not for us to dig into who and what he is made off. secondly God doesnt use a human mind to think the way we do coz he is way way far too intelligent than humans.the holy trinity is just a union like husband and wife whent hey are married they are considered to be one. not beacuse the woman or the man is weak but beacuse thats how its supposed to be.in unison in order to function fully.three equal persons in the one Godhead
Ephesians 4
Unity in the Body of Christ
1As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
