Although this is long, I hope you will read it as I think the answers are found within it.
As a former Catholic, I suffered guilt for many years..growing up in the 50's, guilt was pushed a lot to keep people in line..we were focused on the judgement aspect and the loving God wasn't taught much.
I remember reading Catholic literature about saints and mystics in the church and such..I remember one talking about this 14 year old shephard girl from the early 1900's burning in hell.
I thought..what in the world could this young girl have done to merit that..surely, I stand no chance of making it to heaven as the standards are to high and God is too harsh.
I worried constantly I would go to hell having an overly sensitive conscience and focus on the sins in my life over the many positive things I did.
I prayed somehow, someway, God would find a way to save me and let me go to heaven as there was no one I was going to make it otherwise. I was full of fear and guilt. (My sin were actually not that bad from an earthly standpoint compared to other people, but I thought they were huge and I kept repeating the same sins and mistakes).
One day at the age of 33 (I am 56 now), ironically the same age Jesus was when He died, I was reading Romans...it was the same things I had read all my life..how Jesus died for our sins, yet it seemed to almost leap from the page at me..it was as if scales fell from my eyes and all the sudden I understood it in a way I never had before.
I realized that I was a sinner and unworthy of heaven as God's standard is perfection (all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God)..that there was an angry God about all the horrible sin of the world..each individual sins so much, but when you include all people from all countries and generations of history, that is an immense amount of sin...any Holy God would be offended and He was.
Then I realized that God had come up with a plan to satisfy both side of His nature...for He is just and merciful.
His just side demands there be a punishment for sins on the behalf of the victims of that sin, but He was also a merciful and loving God who doesn't want any of us to perish in hell. It would be wrong to just forgive everyone as then what would He say when the person said..he tortured, raped and killed my child, she cheated me and made me lose a home, etc it would be unjust to just say..well, that's ok At the same time, he was merciful and loved us dearly and didn't want to punish us as we truly deserved. He was torn between justice and mercy and needed a solution. This is the one He came up with.
If God could take one sinless person and put all His anger and wrath on that person, then His justice will have been satisfied as someone suffered and took the penalty of sin (for the wages of sin is death and someone had to die for the sins)and then His mercy could prevail.
He scanned history and found that there were no sinless people as we all sin...the answer came in Jesus..and His willingless to help God solve the problem and help us not suffer the eternal consequences
The answer was the shed blood sacrifice..The old testament was a foretelling of what Jesus would do...starting with Cain and Abel and the blood sacrifice..He rejected the vegetables offed by Cain and accepted the lamb blood sacrifice...the blood satisfied God's anger against sin in that point in history.
Cain became angry that his sacrifice was not accepted as worthy by God and became jealous and slew his brother Abel.
Then came the foreshadowing of what was to come when Abraham was asked to offer his son, Isaac, as a burnt offering to God..to offer his only and dearly loved son that he had waited for for so long
...Abraham was stopped just before he lifted the knife to kill Isaac, but God the Father would one day do what Abraham had been asked to do, offer his son and watch Him suffer, the son who He dearly loved as a sacrifice to take away sins.
Later, we saw the concept of being saved by the blood during the days of Moses..when the firstborn son of the land of Egypt would be killed by the angel of death, the Jews were told to put the blood of a lamb upon the doorpost and when the angel of death saw the blood, he would "pass over" the first born son of the household and the person would not die by live. This was in later years celebrated as the Jewish passover.
This was prophesying the day when the blood of the "lamb of God" was going to cover our sins so that at the final judgement when Satan came as the "accuser of the breathren" to show a list of all our sins and accuse us before God of not being good or worthy enough of heaven that Jesus as the judge of the world at the final judgement could look at the person and see if they had trusted Jesus to save them at any point in their lives for if they had, God would pass over the sins and look only to the precious blood which covered the sins making them white as snow.
Those who had faith in Jesus Christ to save them will be passed over and their lives saved (eternally) at the last judgement. The blood for whatever reason is precious to God who has accepted it in propitition of our sins.
Finally, when the Israelites were in the desert for 40 years, each year the priests would go into the holy of holies and offer a burnt sacrifice on behalf of the people's sins..God would accept that once a year and overlook their sins. But it was not a permanent solution as it had to be repeated over and over...it was a foretelling of how one day Jesus would be the sacrificial lamb and by the shredding of his blood take away our sins.
Once Jesus came to earth and lived and died and arose, the final plan of God had been accomplished in fixing the problem of being just and merciful as well in the finished work of Jesus on our behalf as the mediatator and bridge and gulf between God and man...thus reconciling us to Him as to be called His own dear children.
In addition to solving our sins, He also solved our sin (nature) for we died with Christ who became the 2nd Adam ...all that Jesus is is transferred to us.
Although this is a free gift..a free gift to all of salvation, we must take that gift. When Jesus said from the cross "it is finished (consummated), He was referring to Him being the sacrifice and taking upon Himself the punishment due to us for our lifetimes of sin.
In those days, when a prisoner went to jail..they nailed to the door of the cell, a list of all his crimes. When he was finished serving the number of years of his sentence, a word was stamped on the paper and the paper given to the prisoners..the word meant paid in full.
If they tried to sentence the person who had already served his time again for some reason, he could produce the paper which would prove his time had been served and paid in full. This word was the very one that Jesus yelled from the cross in a loud voice just before dying...paid in full, honey, your sins and mine--the sins of the porno and much more paid for with the suffering and dear blood of Christ..the lamb.
It is already paid for...every sin you ever committed or will commit in your lifetime.
Jesus has done his part..all that remains is your part....and that is where I stood on that day when I was 33.
Our part is to take the gift for Jesus gives us free will and will not force us to take salvation..If we refuse to take it, we will not be saved...because we will not be judged under the covenant of grace (and his blood taking our punishment) but under the covenant of the law which means then, if we have not been saved, Jesus will be forced to judge us instead by our works and the things we have done in this life.
Since His standard is perfection, none will make it...without jesus.
Romans says if we have but one sin, we are guilty of all sins,..For example, if I was in jail and you decided to pay my bond to get me out out of love, but I refused to take it, then I would not get out. Even if the offer is there, we must take it for it to help us. His part is dying and resurrecting...our part is faith in that act on our behalf.
This is what is missing in your life..understanding what God has done and how lost you are and then taking the free gift of salvation...
For me at 33, ll the sudden it became crystal clear, how that which I worried about, prayed about, THAT WHICH MEANT THE MOST TO ME...MY ETERNAL HOME AND SOUL, God had already taken care of...and loved me so much.
Here I thought all those years in my heart of hearts that God was mean and judging and harsh...instead I find out, He loved beyond what I ever imagined.
I saw I stood at a fork in my life..do I turn my back on everything I believed.... all my church teaching and trust in what the Bible was saying, trusting that Jesus truly did take my sins..each and every awful one upon him self...
He felt at the garden the weight of an angry God for all the sins of the world..He was invested in each crimes reexperiencing them in those moments witnessing all the anguish they caused people who were hurt by the sins of others..all of the murder and rape and war and beating and torturing and lie and theft etc.and all the blame was placed on Him...
He looked to His father in His weakness of what he was about to face when the soldiers came and what laid ahead for Him in this mission and instead of the loving father who had always been there for Him, He saw instead an angry God..angry at all the horrible things that all mankind has done. The weight of that moment was so difficult for Jesus, that he wept from His soul and sweat blood.
He could have said, "I am not guilty..the weight of the sins is too great, let this pass from me", but instead He allowed himself to be lead as a lamb to slaughter mute before His accusers. He died out of love for you and for me and for all people, many of whom would despise Him and reject Him.
I turned my back on my Catholic teachings that never explained this to me and placed my trust in Jesus and accepted His offer of forgiveness...I could never earn my way into heaven for Jesus was the only way, the truth, and the life and who who trusts in Him will never die but have eternal life.
I had a very powerful conversion experience...I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit upon me so strong, I feel to my knees...all the sudden the bible which had always seemed so complicated and hard to understand became clear and understandable.
When we trust in Jesus and are saved, He sends the Holy spirit into our hearts..we can quench his voice with fear and its derivatives or anger and bitterness and its and with sin, but Jesus will always forgive us..for while we were yet sinners he died for us and now that we are children of God, how much more will He forgive us.
We must always remember after we are saved that it is never our works but always the blood that is important and saves us..and that our salvation cannot be lost once gained.
It is not going to confession that will gain forgiveness but going to God recognising that you are a sinner lost and that without Him, you will not be saved (unless He has another way He hasn't revealed to us as nothing is impossible with God), realizing there is a gulf between God and you and that Jesus is the bridge and mediator, confessing your sins, accepting God's free gift and thanking Him and never doubting that you are saved for all time even if you should falter and sin which we all do often.
Confess your sins directly to God...although you may continue going to confession if you feel you need to, but recognizing it is Jesus and talking to Him that is important.
The devil will come to tell you that you are awful and lost after you become saved and tempt you mightily, we must ignore all that and do our best..reconizing we will fail a lot, but we always just ask God to forgive us when we recognize we are wrong and trust that he has already, 2000 years ago forgiven us, never forgetting that the blood will cover us always.
I recommend the book by Hal Lindsey called the "liberation of planet earth "which helped me deepen my understanding of these things and explained the concepts of sanctification and how when Jesus died we all where in him and died too.
These are difficult concepts to grasp but this book and others are helpful. It is hard not to sin and God know this..He was tempted just as we are but since He did not have a sin nature, He was able to resist, but He understand us more than you realize
.
Once you come to undrstand just how much he loved you to take all the punishment for each and every sin you did, you will be very grateful, appreciate His love, and hopefully, want to, with the Holy Spirit's help, do better.
I personally tried to stay in the Catholic church for three years as I wanted to help other lost souls, but it was too difficult as they did not teach these concepts, etc. But that is up to you.
Shortly after my conversion experience, I was seized with a desire to be baptised. Even though, my parents had me baptised as an infant, I knew this was not my decision. This desire to be baptised is very common but not necessary to be saved nor even good works are necessary only faith in Jesus' blood to save you, but these things often come as a result of salvation.
I hope this helped you and you will reflect on these words and have a long talk with God tonight and decide to take Jesus' gift. It is a simple act...I remember when I was a Catholic being so irritated with people who said "I know I'm going to heaven." I thought how arrogant is that, but now I am among them understanding that they know this not because they are so good, but because Jesus is and died in their place. Good luck..I spent three hours typing this as I want you to hear it and believe you are meant to...

I am doing the best I can, and I'm sincere.
Even if you could do far better than you are doing now, you still can't do well enough, because you don't please God by being good (Gal. 2:21), but by accepting Jesus (John 1:12).
Sincerity is not the way to heaven. What if you are sincerely wrong? (Remember John 14;6?)
If you are relying on your sincerity, then you are saying because you are sincere, you are therefore good enough, on your own, to be with God. Don't you see, to appeal to your sincerity is to appeal to pride, because you are appealing to something that is in you and not God, for your reason to go to heaven? I am sorry, sincerity is not enough. You must have faith, in Jesus.
How long have you been doing your best? Has it worked so far? Has it given you eternal life?
I am skeptical.
Are you honestly looking for answers? If you are, I would be very willing to talk with you more about Jesus, the Bible, or whatever else you want to talk about.
What are you skeptical about? Perhaps we can talk about some of the things that you feel keep you from a saving knowledge of Jesus.

Guilty feelings do not just vanish in an instant. They linger to keep reminding us that what we did was not morally right. True repentance is not turn away from sin. Do not go back to it. If you do, you'll become calloused to it. For now, you have to just pick up the pieces and continue living you life. You can't just stop dead in your tracks. Time to get going again. But remember the lesson that your guilty feeling taught you.

Quit feeling guilty about it. If you have already been forgiven then you just need to forget. Of course, now when you think about it again, you are having impure thoughts, so I do not know what to tell you about that. If it was truly a mistake then you should not have watched that much of it anyway, let go of it.

dont feel guilty sex is not a sin it is an action that god supports for without sex we would not multiply and grow but sex requires love and if love is not involved then its wrong and if your feeling dis pleasure in the video then love as you see it is not present in the video or you dont reconize it but dont be ashamed of that alot of videos of sex show very little compassion because most are just about money and selfishness and forcefullness there are wild beast to fear and there are tame self controled beast that posses a mystic that is desired rightly because you can see the desire drawing you closer and (pheal) the want and reconizing that passionate love you will pheal confident and safe but dont be against sex videos just find the one that does involve the pleasureable emotions with the action and you will pheal a whole lot better

If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and those sins are thrown into a sea of forgetfulness, thank Jesus for cleansing you from your sin and rejoice. We are not perfect, we fall many times, but each time we must ask forgiveness and go on. Look at the Lord's Prayer in Matthew "forgive us our sins as we forgive those..."
jesus knows we are going to sin, and we have to be forgiven.
Now you must thank the Lord for your forgiveness and forget about it, he already has.

God forgives and forgets. That is why he wants us to go to Him. Along with forgiveness, he gives peace. If you asked Him to forgive you, then He did. Its ok, He knows we mess up all the time.
Look at David in the Bible, he commited adultery, he was a fornicator, he commited murder, and lots of other sins, but God forgave him. God said, that David was a man after his own heart. God knows we sin and will sin in the future, it doesnt make it ok to sin, but God knows our hearts and forgives us.
God knows that you were sorry and that you feel guilty, He forgives you. And its ok. So dont worry, God knows your heart!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus died for you on the cross for this very reason... It is good you felt guilty but you didn't mean to do it from the beginning, Jesus loves you so much and wants to forgive you, its not about feeling, just believe.
Also don't goto confessionals, only Jesus can forgive sins, ask Christ to forgive you, he will.

Sister, You went to the wrong person, You don't go to your priest, you need to go to the HIGH PRIEST & that is Jesus Christ. No man on this earth can forgive you only God can, We ask God OUR FATHER, Through the blood of Jesus Christ to forgive us, & his forgiveness is free, too.
