Heaven in the Bible has different meanings.
Religions taught that 'faithful' mankind would go to heaven to live with God. This is not true.
The Bible teaches that mankind who have the 'heavenly call'..are part of the New Jerusalem that will rule over the earth.
The new earth will be a Paradise. Jesus said, 'You will be with me in Paradise."
So, Jesus and his wife, and the 144,000 firstfruits, who become immortal like them, will rule the earth as Kings, Queens,Priest and Judges for the thousand years and forever.
Isaiah 65:17-25 shows how these chosen ones will be blessed and will have offspring and there wil be no more harm on the earth.
Isaiah 33:24 And no resident will say 'I am sick,' the people dwelling in the land will be those pardoned for their error.
Isaiah 11:1-10 There will be justice, wicked ones will be immediately eliminated, animals will be vegetarians, babies will play at the hole of snake without harm, all the earth will be filled with the knowledge of God, Jesus will soon stand up with his sign/signal and all the nations will turn to him inquiringly.
REVELATION 21,22, 2Peter 3:13
John 14:3 Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for you. I am coming again and will receive you HOME to MYSELF, what WHERE I AM YOU ALSO MAY BE.
YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.

If I want to see heaven then I have to die.
While there are abundant and varied sources for conceptions of Heaven, the typical believer's view appears to depend largely on his particular religious tradition. Various religions have described Heaven as being populated by angels, gods and goddesses, and/or heroes (especially in Greek mythology). Heaven is generally construed as a place of happiness, sometimes eternal happiness.
One popular medieval view of Heaven was that it existed as a physical place above the clouds and that God and the Angels were physically above, watching over man. With the dawn of the Age of Reason, science began to challenge this notion; however Heaven as a physical place survived in the concept that it was located far out into space, and that the stars were "lights shining through from heaven".

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain." That's huge, isn't it?
No more "death"? You mean, no cancer, AIDS, wars, or murders? Sounds pretty good. No more "mourning"? You mean, no young widows trying to raise four children, no toddlers kidnapped by psychos, no crosses on the side of the highway signifying someone killed by a drunk driver, no whole cities perishing in an earthquake? Ever? Sounds great!
No more "crying" or "pain"? You mean, no divorces ripping homes apart, no daughters being violated by fathers, no teenage boys or girls selling their bodies for money, no people feeling insecure because they're too tall or short or fat or skinny, no villagers starved out by governments, no lonely grandmothers whose husbands died twenty years before they will, no talented people wasting their lives through a heroin addiction, no gin-infested husbands using their wives and children as punching bags, no insults or malice just because someone has a different skin color, no hateful words spoken or heard?
The point: God is very creative. All we have to do is look around us. Our world is amazing. And yet, it could be that God hasn't even shown off yet. It's likely that he hasn't. But we can be confident of this: whatever heaven is, it will be much more than we ever imagined, or could imagine. We just have no idea.

I can only tell you my experience. I almost or did died a couple of times, and what I saw was the most wonderful place anyone could ever imagine! I was in the hospital, and very near death. I floated out of my body, and upwards towards this very beautiful light. It was a very bright light, but not in the sense of the sun or a spotlight, but a very beautiful, warm, glowing, soothing, silver/white light. It seemed near, yet far from me, and reminded me of looking down the horizonal shaft of a tunnel, as everything was dark all around except for just the light. I could see myself lying in the bed, as I was above my body in the air, and could see the doctor and nurses gathered around me, working on my body to keep it alive. I recall not wanting to go back down to my body and to all that pain. Above the bed (in which I lay) was a box type light mounted on the wall at the head of the bed. On the glass/plastic top I could see a dead fly, and for some reason the fly seemed important. I traveled a great distance in just a short time to what seemed to be the end of the tunnel, and it opened up into the most beautiful place I had ever saw in my life. It was warm as if you would be next to a fire on a cold day. A very soothing warm but a hundred times better feeling than anything I have ever known. I stopped for some reason, and could go no futher. I could see all of my family who had passed away in the near distance having the most wonderful time laughing, and dancing, and having fun. I recall the feeling was like; take the best feeling you have had in your life, and multiply it by 100 times, and that might be close to the feeling I was having. My uncle came out to meet me, and said "you can't come yet", and my reply was "please don't make me go back" and he said "you must go back, your work is not done". The next thing that I saw was me traveling towards my body at an incredible speed, and right back into my body I went. I woke up later on in the day, and got better and better over the next few days. I wondered about the fly I saw on the light, and if it was real. When I was well enough to climb up to see, the fly was there, and I knew for sure I was not dreaming, and no one would ever convince me that God and heaven didn't exist. I needed this in order to change the way I lived my life, and me typing this answer is part of the many reasons I had to come back. If you don't believe in God, and live the way he wants us to, you will miss the best place there is to go! Have faith, and Good Luck!

If there is a heaven it will be full of surprised atheists who have lived good and moral lives, having been accepting of other peoples rights to live in peace.
There will be very few Christians as they will have been disqualified by their behaviour in distorting Christianity to fit their desires and for being dictatorial, judgemental and self serving.
Since Islam requires that Muslims dedicate their whole life to the worship of God then there is likely to be a lot of those as well.
The Muslim fanatics of course will join the excluded Christians.

I don't think anyone on earth can describe how heaven would no matter how imaginative that person can be. To be honest there are no words in our dictionary in what so ever language that could describe heaven.
Can you imagine what would it smell like! that is also out of our capabilities.

No one possibly knows the answer but you will need to find out.
The budhists say we are already in heaven/hell whichever you choose and waiting to be born, which we call death.
Think about it, thats an interesting thought.
