i think a hairstraightener would do just fine

I think the only way you can remove the curliness is to get it chemically altered? I have curly hair as well and I was having a terrible time with wispy bits and frizzy bits! My hairdresser suggested I use just conditioner instead of shampoo as well. I thought that sounded gross and my hair would be all oily and gunky but it works surprisingly well - just as clean as it would be if I still used shampoo. I use the conditioner as if it were shampoo and rinse it out THOROUGHLY then use it again as conditioner. Don't rinse all of it out though - this stops the flyaway bits! If you like to rinse it all out, then before your hair dries smooth some more of the conditioner through. (You'll have to play around with the amount of conditioner to leave in or how much to add afterwards) I add water to the little left over bits in the bottle and use this to put on after the shower. The other thing I do to control my curls is I always wash my hair at night - I don't know how long your hair is but mine's half way down my back. So I wash it just before I go to bed and when i lie down I lie on my back with a towel on my pillow and i pile all of my hair above my head - spread it out a bit so it dries though. This will help make the curls larger and more 'together' instead of being frizzy!! I hope this helps - i know you wanted tips to make your hair straighter but I thought these tips might help make your hair more manageable if you don't want to get it chemically straightened. I've been washing my hair like this for about 3 years and I tried using shampoo again once but it was straight back to being frizzy curly instead of beautiful ringlety (is ringlety a word??!) curly!! Another thing you could do to make it straighter is to use a ceramic straightener but to have to do this every single day is a pain in the butt!! Good luck and hopefully someone else might have more practical tips!! By the way I use Pantene - it's the only one I've found that controls my hair - sometimes I use the curly conditioner as shampoo and the smooth and sleek one for conditioner.

I have very curly hair too. I love the new Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner to tame curly hair (purple bottles). It won't straighten it, but it calms, defrizzes a lot. I don't like using chemicals to straighten. Curly hair tends to be fine (despite how rough it might feel). Chemicals weaken it and cause it to break a lot. Invest in a good ceramic, ionic flat iron. They can make the coursest hair pin straight. Always follow with anit-revision hair spray to keep humidity from frizzing it out between washings.

P.S. When I was younger I hated my hair. Then I started to realize how much women with straight hair pay to get the curls I have naturally. Now I just stick to products that control the curl and only straighten on occasion.

If your hair is very curly, I dont think it would straighten by just applying shampoo. Perhaps a straightening treatment at the hairdresser would do better. You could even do it yourself by buying the necessary items from your pharmacist or hairdresser.

well,to be very frank there is no cure for curly hair, you have to live with it so try and make it look good by either straightening them or cut it in such a way to give you a better look!!
