My friends b/f & her broke up about 6 weeks ago, after seeing each o ther for around a year or more.... They are seeing each other again, on the terms they're not b/f g/f but not seeing other people & keep their distance so only see each other now & then he wants to keep it a secret from everyone, his housemate & about 2 other people know.

He says it's because he doesn't want people talking about them, or spreading rumours, gossiping etc. Or is he just keeping it a secret to keep his options open, playing her.

No rude answers please, yeh she should just get rid of him, just maybe what someones intentions would be for doing this?

OK this guy is a player. I would never allow a man to have "terms" for our relationship to begin with but, For reals this guy is not on the up and up. He is keeping space, not just for opportunity but, he is already involved guaranteed! There is another girl out there who thinks she is in the same relationship that your friend is in, Trust me I was Married 10 years to the same guy...... and now am remarried for 5 years to a real man... one that I know would never put limitations on our relationship! Love that is real is limitless, and come without bullshit coverups! GET OUT NOW!

If they both decided on the terms, they may both be playing each other, not just the guy playing her. You bring up a lot of questions about his intentions, but what about her intentions? If they both decided to see other poeple but still see each other, neither of them are innocent to what they're doing.

I think both of there intentions is to have something to go back to when they're lonely, but keep their distance when they are involved with someone else. Possibly, they;re both afraid to move on before finding someone else to attach themselves to.

From my past experience in dealing with a guy who sounds just like your friend's boyfriend, his intentions are to be with more than one girl at a time...Tell your friend to get rid of this loser!!!

Yeah he's keeping his options open. Sorry but if he loved her he would be shouting it to the whole world. Perhaps not quite like Tom Cruise on Oprah but you get the point.

Sounds shady to me. If he were with her because he wanted to be, he would want the world to know. My guess, he is playing her... intentions friends with benefits- and that would be best case

In my opinion It matters on why they broke up. If he broke it off, then there is a slight chance that he is playing her. If she broke it off, there is a slight chance that the guy doesn't want to get hurt again
