Here is the truth from the Bible.
When you die, you sleep, that is why it is deemed "rest in peace". Then when the time comes, Jesus will return to the earth and raise everybody up, the followers of Christ will goto Heaven and see Jesus, the evil will be destroyed.

Well, I don't believe in a god or a devil, but I do think there's some kind of an afterlife. We're all somehow made up of energy and I don't think that the energy stops existing after you body dies. I'm not sure what the afterlife looks like and I admit that I could be wrong about the existence of an afterlife. I like the idea of some kind of an afterlife though. On the other hand, if there's no afterlife, it wouldn't be so bad 'cause then you wouldn't be aware of it, would you? I think the idea of an afterlife is appealing because it gives you the feeling that you don't have to do it all and you don't have to have it all, in this short existence on earth. And the idea that the loved ones you've lost are still somewhere out there looking out for you. I've lost some friends and both my parents and the idea of them floating around somewhere somehow appeals to me. Oh well, I'll see if I'm right after I die. By the way: the afterlife I have in mind is open to everyone. You don't have to have a certain religion and there most certainly is no hell.

I believe in life after death as I am a Catholic, so I also believe in God and that there is a devil.
I do believe in science (have a BSc and Msc) and believe that death is the end of our physical life, the end of your body's life. I believe that once someone dies your soul or spirit continues on into an afterlife with God in heaven.
On another note, when my great uncle's father died years ago, he actually 'died' twice. He was gravelly ill and the family had all gather together by his bedside. He died and the doctors check and confirmed that he was died, but then sometime later he 'woke up', much to the surprise of the doctors. He said that when he died he saw a light and there was he brother and other family members who had previously died. He said it was such a lovely place. He then died 24 hours later, but its nice to think that may be he did see heave for a brief time before he really died. Anyway, its a story I was told when I was young, it happen maybe 40 years ago

Because science would be right...for a change. When you die..you are indeed...well, dead. There is no life after death. You and I do not have each our own immortal spirit that discorperates (thank you Stephen King) for our bodies and then floats off into oblivion or is deligated to "heaven" or "hell". Hell, a pagan norse god of the undeworld, is a term inserted to translate the Hebrew word "sheol" in Bible scripture which is most of the time correctly translated as "death" or the "grave"..in effect it means to be "covered over" and could be with earth, darkness, a flood, and etc. Essentially it is the furtherest place from God and if you are far from God there is no life, light, thought or awareness. There are mass scripture attributing to this. No one does anything until the Day of Judgement when all who are in Christ are raised were those that believe and belong to Him will be caught up. The rest those that are lost will remain after they are resurrected to be judged and shown destruction...Use this tool below and you will see what I mean.
http://www.biblegateway.com
Now enter these key terms
Parish
destruction
death
hades
consumed
fire
eternal
immortal
eternity
gnashing of teeth
weeping
second death
fire
Now you are going to pull up mass scriptures about all sorts of things but if you search through you will see that when it comes to death..it always just says death...we are never told through the word of God that we will exist elsewhere. Our days, our time, our thoughts..they all cease. Its no big deal if you belong to God cuz He's coming back for us to bring us back and make us and all other things new. Those who have to worry are the ones that will be raised to the "second death". What is described as being eternal in scripture is the deligation of Satan and his menions to the pit...the abyss. As well, the fire is eternal..not someones torment in that fire. The choice is eternal life or eternal death...not eternal life in heaven or eternal life in "hell". Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

I do belive there is life after death. Its mearly a beginning. Science hasnt proven that dying itstelf is the end of life. The human body is just a vessel which can deteriorate but also this vessel contains energy which is the soul.

Yes it's true, but how can you have proof, well you can't, and there will be lots saying it's in the mind, it's made up, well there wrong, how do i know well I have been a Spiritualist for many years, I'm not like the ones you see on the TV, or the ones you see in the paper, I don't charge lots of money for what I do, I do take money to cover my time, I was given £40.00 for 6 readings, which took over 5 hours, so i will let you be the judge of that.
What do I do, well I contact those who have passed over to the spirit world, I never ask anyone for details, about themselves, and most times when i turn up there are people I do not know, and never met, I pass on messages to them, these are things that only they would know, and no it's not mind reading, I don't do fortune telling, because the spirit world is not there for that.
During my time here, I have been talking to spirit for years, I have seen the spirit world, and I have been there.
It's a place that you would want to return.
yes there is a God, but religion is man made written by man to try and control the people of the world, and do things in Gods name, God gave us free will, and this is why he will not step in and stop the things that happen in the world today, this causes people to not believe in him, and if you like gives him bad press, but why should he clear up our mess? However he we never leave us, he is all around us, and will guild us when needed, as far as the devil goes he is within us all, but can you control the evil that he brings, in the world today at times it feels like he is getting stronger, using mans religion against man, and God.
All I can add is that have faith in yourself, and God, fight the evil within, in time (not to soon for you I hope) you will see that there is life after death.
Ask yourself this do you feel others, loved ones that have passed away near you when you think of them, is it in your mind, or are they there? Well most times they are there, trying to contact you most times for two reasons, 1 to let you know they are OK, and 2 to let you that there is life after death, but there will be times when there is nothing, you may see shadows, or hear noises, but that’s all they are.
When the time is right you will know the truth.
Love & Peace
Heres a thought I have said there is no proof of life after death, let those who disbelieve proof otherwise

Why would there be life after death? If a so called God created us then why not just start in Heaven.
I guess people believe in life after death so that it gives meaning to their life but i'd say there was no point in this life if we just have a better one after death.

I don`t believe in life after death. Most people believe it because they don`t want to think that this is it, the end, kaput, all gone so someone invented the afterlife as a way to quell the fears of others.

dying is the end of the life cycle of the human body, but there is such a thing as the spirit or the psyche that carries on i.e.-ghosts or spirits trapped here.as a example my grandfather died at my parents house, when we came back to the house after the funeral,i was talking to the vicar,i saw the image of my grandfather go up past the window of the house.oh! i had not been drinking by the way.
