Why is it christian reject the notion of prophets to come?

Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits. -(Matthew 7:15-20)

Emphasis on "You will know THEM by their fruits".

So do you reject the notion of a prophet following Jesus?

Tuff question! How CAN we determine a prophet by his fruits?
Surely, a false prophet will have many followers, because he
tells the pople what they want to hear. But all the prophets in old times were hated, and put to death. Because people didn't like what they said.
Nobody gave a squat about Jesus or Muhammad until they were gone.

I do think the things said by Jesus in the New Testament, and John in the book of Revelations, as well as all in the book of Daniel should be known before anything else comes along, I know whar Acts 2:16,17; also Rev.11:1-3; My two witnesses and their prophecy. We will do excellent to know what they mean in full as they are not false and Jesus said, this generation will not pass away until all things be fulfilled. Matt.24:3,14,22,34,36-38 [ Only God knows the day and hour ]; Who knows every thing else?

Which generation and what things is a good amount of knowledge to know in the last days. Does it take a prophet to understand these prophecies?

You can not say someone is a false prophet untill their prophetcy is wrong, but once they have one wrong they are false prophets (A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.)

Each religion has its own brand of nonsense. The one thing they all have in common is that they have nothing to to with reality, other than infesting the world with a lot of gullible fools.
