My collie/labrador X does this and he's no longer a pup! He goes mad with the hoover, mop or sweeping brush. I think he think I am playing with him and like the above poster said, its down on his level so he can play with it, bite it and "attack" it LOL!

It does get a bit of nuisance though when you're trying to clean the floor and he just won't get out of the way and leave the hoover or mop alone!!!

My dog still does that and she's getting on for 12! However her son who's 4 is a complete wimp runs and hides whenever the vac comes out!!!

I think it's just a play instinct really and shows how fiesty your dog is, vacs especially as they make so much noise are just replacing big animals up for a ruck in the wild.

Woof, all dogs do that my dogs do that all the time at the vaccume and the swiffer! It is a bad habbit no dog can control....Even if it gets chewed up you just have to let the dog do what the dogs gotta do sometimes. Sometimes if you forbid a dog to do a certain thing or it looses a certain thing it actually goes into a small depression.....My aunts dog died my dog was heartbroken for awhile (no joke serious)

Still in the PUPPY stage where everything is a TOY

The vacuum is fun to bark at & bite at! LOL

My pup does the same. It's my opinion that she thinks the vacuum is an animal and must be destroyed at all costs!

I had a cat that went berserk with the mop or a brush and used to sit on them while we were cleaning and try and kill it with her claws! Mad. However dogs love anything that moves - its a plaything and your puppy is trying to get its attention.

I had a puppy that went nuts for brooms too. I think it's the movement of it, looks like fun / like you're playing with them, and also it's on their level (smaller than them) so they feel all macho and can attack lol.
