HE can't be having nightmares at 10 months old!!!

Probably hungry, wet/dirty diaper, lonely, cold or too warm, teething, growing etc.

Get up with him when he cries, calm him down, change his diaper, rock him, feed him, comfort him etc.

10 mos old and having Nightmares? that sounds very scarey in a way. Does your child go to day care, or taken care of by someone while you go to work? if no, then has there been anyone over your house that has been around your child alot? do you have a pet? Can't imagine a 10 mo. old having nightmares for just no reason at all. Something or someone would have to be the cause of it. There is also something called Night Terrors, but I have only heard about children having that that are a bit older than toddler age. Take your child to the pediatrician, if there is no other reason for this.

I`m with Quicksand on this. Yes babies can have night mares. They can be hungry but if you do take him to day care or have someone come in he could be being abused. No, usually10 month olds don't have the words to tell you, whats wrong.Shes right ,get him to a Dr. and drop in at you place of care unexpectedly and see what is happening there.

Dreams appear to be a kind of parallel processing by which we integrate our experience, making new connections in our brains. In the uterus, babies probably dream about the muted light they see and the sounds they hear (heartbeats, voices, and music). After birth, perhaps they dream about the explosion of new sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and textures as they delight in getting to know their parents.

My husband is in the military, and whenever he goes on deployment he has bad dreams about me or our son getting hurt. I think it is just the fear he has because he is not there to see that you both are okay everyday.
