Congrats. You have seen the real truth. If God existed, would he allow so much suffering going on ? If he ever existed, he ran off to some distant galaxy to try and create a more perfect form of life after seeing what mankind has turned into.

If you believe that helping other people to find salvation is the most important thing in the world, more important than saving lives or anything else and you suddenly don't believe it any more, you experience a big let-down. Nothing else seems important. So you start settling for unimportant things. You can do good if you want to for the good it will do and not for any reward or punishment. One thing you can do is talk to people about their beliefs, not with the intent of converting them but just to learn how they think and feel about things. If you have to get along without god there will still be people and kitties and puppies and watermelons and waterfalls and snowstorms and rainbows and stars and planets. And miracles. There will still be miracles. And someday you may find that god isn't who or what you thought god is but something much bigger and more amazing that was there all the time. Good luck. Enjoy the journey.

If you are asking this question, maybe you have not really given up just yet.God loves you and like any loving parent he has to understand that sometimes his child might question him and say out loud that God can not possibly love me.God has abandoned me so I will abandon him.Maybe you need to walk away from God for a short while.Just always remember that God will always welcome you back into his arms when you are ready.Nobody knows why God does or does not do the things that we as his children think he should do or not do.Maybe our life here on Earth is just a test of our inner soul.I don't know.Just remember that you are never alone.Keep the faith!

OK, I accept the fact that you have given up on G-d. That's your right. I won't say that G-d hasn't given up on you - who am I to speak for Him? But of course, if there really is a G-d, you know you and He can get back together whenever you want to.
You are looking for what else you can believe in or have to guide your life. You do need something to believe in?
OK, why not believe in yourself and humanity? You can still have direction and moral purpose with this belief.
This is from Wikipedia about humanism which perhaps may be what you are looking for now.
Humanism is a broad category of active ethical philosophies that affirm the dignity and worth of all people, based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appeal to universal human qualities—particularly rationalism. Humanism is a component of a variety of more specific philosophical systems, and is also incorporated into some religious schools of thought.
Humanism entails a commitment to the search for truth and morality through human means in support of human interests. In focusing on the capacity for self-determination, humanism rejects transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on faith, the supernatural, or divinely revealed texts. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of human nature, suggesting that solutions to our social and cultural problems cannot be parochial.
Good luck!

Well, sorry that you have been 'slapped in the face', and that it's the reason you are willing to ask about other possibilities.
My belief is that energy is what Christians refer to as God. I believe the Jesus really lived and that he was a prophet (for his actions, and teachings), but that's about where the similarity ends. I do not consider breaking a commandment as a 'sin', but I do feel that it is morally wrong , because the commandments are all matters of common courtesy. I think that one needs to go into nature sometimes to clear their head. I think that when I observe the beauty of this earth, or think about things that I need help with, its like praying.
There is more to mine, but maybe you should hunt for yours. Strangely a fictional adventure book, gave me some 'insights' about people, their behaviors and my other surroundings. You may like it, it is "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield.

Hang in there. I was once like you. This time eight years ago, I was so hurt and angry with God. I had been so hurt by his people. I couldn't understand why God had allow so much to happen. I than developed a sense of pride thinking I knew more than those "unlearned Christians". I wanted to warn as many people as possible of what I preceived as the dangerous of Christianity. Today, my faith is stronger than it ever before. I don't have all the answers. He's God and I am not. Looking back, I can see all the ways that he helped me even when I was angry and rebelling

You're in this world to have a good life. We're just nothing but a pilgrim, and our real place is in heaven. Frustrations, one after another should not be a cause for dispair nor a reason to seprate self from God. It should be viewed as an oppurtunity given by God to share in the passion of Christ and claim your trophy of glory in heaven.

I think, the god has already given you everything and that's why u r in the earth. now, what u r expecting more from god huh?
if you still go in this way without doing yourself and just expecting from god, they you have no value in the earth. you can see everywhere that even people having lack of hands, eyes, legs etc. are doing something and making the god happy, then what sort of things is not available in you?
my motto is, if falling 6th times, stand up for 7th time.....never loose your faith to god !!

If you give up your "faith" the join those of the enlightened who have realized that that book is just stories and myths. You don't think the Greek and Roman mythologies are real, do you? Probably not. So stop fantasizing about childrens stories and spooky old men living in the sky watching every move you make and get back down here in reality.
You will be a happier person.

Who said it was quid quo pro ? That's not the point really. So you have had a few slaps on the face. Could be worse you could have been fed to the lions or burned at the stake.
