First of all, you have to want to quit. Really want to quit. Make the commitment and don't place yourself in situations where people will offer you smokes. Avoid bars etc. If you like to smoke when you have a drink. Don't have that drink.

want to know,,, you don't have to replace an old habit with a new one... it's all in your head... you quit when you really want to...if you're watching certain people packing their cigarette's and then opening the pack, taking a smoke out and lighting up, well that' going to make you , or your little self crave... or if your nerves act up, i mean by watching a football game or being pulled over by a cop, something like that, again your little self will want a cigarette... this is a job for your higher self, this is for your will... did you know you were in there, time to come out where ever you are...i have a flap in my left lung and my right lung is huge, it's inoperative, and since i don't smoke, it's from second hand smoke. smoke that has been filtered through other peoples bodies and then through mine...a bit unfair, isn't it...your will be done with this...you will be able to run marathons...your lungs will rejuvenate themselves in time...you and your pillow will smell so good... your clothes and the people, ususally around you will smell so good...you will look and feel so young... how, to do it, ask your higher self, demand of it, think about the pros and cons, unless you are suicidel, you will stop...

Hypnotism works, you need to have 1-3 sessions, it doesnt work on everyone though. I quit after having a big night drinking & smoking, but then I have to avoid going out to bars etc where i might drink

Hmmm... let's see. I just quit last week after: Talking to my kids about it and having them tell me they love me and don't want me to get sick and die. Then there's the $150 or so per month I would save. I now have DSL, Satellite TV, more gas money for travel, and so on... thanks to not smoking. Oh, I feel better, smell better, and have normal colored fingers and nails. When I get the urge to smoke, I just think of these things and then go find something to do.
'nuff said?

i smoked 40 -50 a day for 20 years. when i got to age 35-36 i gave up one sunday after a big night out on the drink and smokes, just woke up coughing realising my life would suck in 20 years if i didnt stop. never to smoke again, and it is unreal how much better you feel. it makes you realise how much it sucks once you stop..

For me it was a matter of 'rewiring" my thoughts. I used some methods thought by Paul MacKenna. Basically decided I was no longer a smoker, so when ever I wanted a cigarette, it was not a matter of not being able ti have one. I told myself it was silly to want one as I was not a smoker. It worked a charm.
